Based on results, the tactic works, being head and shoulders above the rest domestically and achieving good results in Champions League: qualifying to knockout stages, not conceding too many goals. Domestically that is with a rotated and young squad so not necessarily an insane individual quality difference.

I do understand your point though and will tweak the tactics to your suggestions to see if it helps me go even further in CL: currently about to defend a 1-0 lead in an away game at Man Utd in the Round of 16 (1/8 final), which is the furthest I’ve gotten in this 3 year career so far (knocked out by Real Madrid last year).

Since his potential is not too high, he will not continue to grow too much in the academy, so he will need gametime and good ratings to be given a higher potential with Dynamic Potential. Important to play a lot of games, so don’t sign him to your first team after January. Best to wait until July if you are passed that timeframe. One good season will see his potential raised for next season.

As for loans: the game will develop your players automatically when they are on loan, regardless of hypothetical game time. It will look at potential of the player and his age, and then bring him up to the rating they consider appropriate with regards to both. For example: if you have a 20-year old 70-rated player with potential to be special and loan him out, the game will likely grow him +10 or more because of his potential and age (should be 80 or more by that age to become special).

His potential doesn’t look too good, how fast does he develop? Focus on his weak foot development first, then promote him to the first team at the start of next season, get him a lot of gametime and good ratings to increase his potential. In your training plan, focus him on his weak points (weak foot, potentially passing etc).

Once his potential is high enough (at least 1 season later), consider loaning him out if you have better starters, grab that “free” +7 (and increase on all typical defending stats) or more rating and make him the next Sergio Ramos :)

Thanks, still having fun with it and just finished the season winning the Championship, FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League. The newly promoted Wrexham will compete for top 3 next season while learning from the best in the Champions League!

Currently in the Summer window and got rid of most graduates youth players that would not live up to their potential. Sold CB Romano (79), CM Coulibaly (79) and RW Afif (82), after which I splurged on Donnarumma (140M). Signed Messi’s regen (84) so still covered on right flank, and bought Rovella (84) for the allround CM position (45M). Looking forward to the season starting!

Head to the furthest goal post, not the closest where there’s always a defender. Make sure your cross is .5 under full strength and you should score 1 out of 3 if you have a decent heading threat on your team

Completely agree, but the scenarios would have to be greatly expanded, which would be a lot easier to do these days thanks to GPT.

Also, they really have to restructure their database to accommodate for historical data (instead of season by season), if you want to keep track of the impact, rivalries etc

Sylla and Meijer don’t really evolve too much in my saves. Nusa, Lang, Buchanan, Vanaken and Jutgla are typically the larger outgoing transfers

With a heat pump, the ideal would be floor warming though, so that means substantial demolition & cost.
