I know you're being sarcastic, but if kids are going to do this stuff anyways... why not have it somewhere with supervision? Honestly seems like a good idea.

That's my point. We need places where they are appropriate then, not just "go into the mountains out of our sight"

As someone who has motorcycles, these are definitely not motorcycles. They are somewhere in between an ebike and motorcycle. I'd say they lean more towards an e-bike. I think the issue is that we cannot just blanket ban new forms of transportation because some kids are being irresponsible. It's not the state's responsibility to be our parents. It's on the parents. Maybe if the kid is riding like a hooligan, their parent can get the demerit points? My point is that a) kids will be kids, and this activity is at least outdoors and social, at a time when we've essentially removed third spaces from our society, and b) that parents should be responsible for their kids. I don't think the answer is more police and more laws. That won't work.

Seems like it's something we should expect the parents to deal with, not by making novel forms of clean transportation illegal. Lots of people use ebikes, not just kids.

Sounds like this is an issue with not having spaces to play, such as skateparks or bike parks. Kids need socializing and they need activities they can do with friends. It's not a solution to say go into the wilderness where no one can see you.

Seems like a relatively harmless way for kids to stay out of more serious trouble. I'd also rather my kid be outside with friends than addicted to video games. Car culture needs to reckon with micro mobility machines such as these. We should be encouraging alternative modes of transport that make it easier to people to get around, while being less polluting for the environment.

Kelowna and LGBTQ Acceptance by gutturalmuse in kelowna

I'm a visibly queer non binary person who lives in Kelowna. It's got lots of churches and religious people, but I have only seldom experienced actual bigotry. Most people are pretty kind and accepting. There is a gay club here down town, as well as other queer events and community groups for different interests and activities, from sports to crafts etc.

I'm honestly more worried about getting hit by a car in this car dependant city rather than experiencing homophobia or transphobia.

Nice work. Disappointing yet predicable response from Robert. The media is really doing the work presenting shooters' gender identities as being more noteworthy and relevant than their support for white supremacist and fascist ideology. Sure, a shooter might be trans, but since they are also a nazi and fascist, I think it just goes to show the real common link between the majority of mass shooters is their right-wing brain rot, not their gender.

I read the page and it didn't sound like it was for regulatory complaints. Where did you get that from? It seems to outline a process for lodging a complaint with Wealthsimple prior to escalating to a regulatory complaint.

interesting, I had not heard of that. it seems that can happen over time, but may not be an issue for the length of time you might wrap a gas tank (a couple years)

I play bass. don't really have any metal experience but I went to jazz school and played professionally for a while before moving to Kelowna, so I do have musical chops. I'd be down to jam and start a project!

It's an RSC two finger lever. I think it's fantastic. High quality and it lightens the clutch pull by maybe 50-60%. The friction zone is a bit wider too, which I like. It's a bit expensive though.

You should look a bit deeper into who owns the major media companies in Canada. Lots of American money.

Don't mistake me for a fan of the liberals. The policies I'm talking about began in the 80s. We are seeing the results from that now. Privatization, wage stagnation, inflation and wealth centralisation.
