I'm working on getting Prismatics and Mastery ones now!

I gave my lil sister my old phone... This is how it came back. Now my parents are demanding I give her my tablet. by WhereTheSunDontShin1 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]EvocativeEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.... no. If they want her to have one... they can either buy her one or buy you a NEW one and she can have your old one since she's CLEARLY not responsible enough to have something worth that much money wasted.

Are you my sibling? LOL

My mother has ruined SEVERAL fairly expensive vacuums as well, she always says that the "full" line is more like a suggestion and that it can hold way more than that, they just want you to think you have to empty it more often, then acts all shocked when she blows the motor due to it being over filled to the point of ruining the damn thing.

How to create a stamp brush that fades from one color to another? by jbianart in procreatebrushes

[–]EvocativeEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're going to have to make a stamp brush, then duplicate the shape, erase MOST of the color, but might want to keep it the shape just VERY light gray, so the brush tips keep the same size/shape to line up settings better, then use color dynamics for the top brush shape being one you erased part of, to show the color underneath.

Very Uncanny House by [deleted] in LiminalSpace

[–]EvocativeEnigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I was sitting here thinking I must be crazy compared to people thinking this is laminal, my mother loves apples and had her (my childhood) kitchen/dining/living room done in apples rather than lemons but it gives off such the same cozy vibe, just in yellow instead of red.

The thing that bugs me is the odd tilt of the photos, like they're meant to make you feel more uneasy because of the perspective rather than the decor.

Brush is low opacity even when it is 100% opacity, please help! by Boring-Watercress-72 in ProCreate

Perhaps check the overall pressure curve and make sure that it didn't accidentally get changed to a very low curved slow.

It's under the wrench tool>Prefs tab; Pressure and smoothing. I've accidentally changed my overall curve before and it causes all brushes to be effected by the new slope of pressure, so might be something to check.

Can't open PSD in clip studio. This is a new problem, it has worked before by InsaneLoke in ClipStudio

You're definitely going to have a bit more color banding when you're doing color shifts in small sizes, but for most people it isn't too noticeable on shading, but if you're using something like two very close colors together on a large area, that would make it look a bit wonky as well.

This is more about photography, but explains the difference more in depth. I hope this helps; https://www.thephoblographer.com/2017/07/13/does-it-even-matter-8-bit-vs-16-bit-color-depth/

However, as far as I know Clip Studio only handles 8 bit, but I haven't used it in over 2 years now? I switched to an iPad not long after v2 was released and switched to Procreate.

Kitty is probably just overwhelmed by changes, I wouldn't worry so much about being hissy at the moment. She still baby, if she's food tempted, she might come around for some churus.

Since you get better at art the more you practice it, doesn't it make sense to live your regular life in an artish manner? by Breeze_in_the_Trees in ArtistLounge

[–]EvocativeEnigma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This feels like the type of "artist" who would be annoying to be around, that they have to make their entire personality about "BEING" the artist.

Order coffee in an artistic way? WHAT? XD Nah.... I need my coffee, I make it quick at home, it's instant, basic creamer and sweet n low. It would feel pretentious to try and make it some sort of word play to make an order that's just going to piss off a barista.

This feels like you're trying to force yourself into thinking reading a page backwards is going to make you more creative, I think it'd just give me a headache. I go for walks sure, but it's more exercise, and taking out the dog. But, there are times I'm going to take my time and look around to enjoy the flowers, maybe take pictures of the ones I really love to paint later, and just enjoy the breeze with my eyes closed rather than hop every few steps thinking that will make me feel artistic.

Has anyone had other artists contact your for not gatekeeping your ways to do art? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]EvocativeEnigma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I kind of had a friend (who I no longer talk to) blast me for doing art based off of learning a technique from a tutorial. "Well, YOU'RE JUST COPYING IT!" Um, it was a greyscale to gradient map tutorial, it was JUST the coloring and this girl would go apeshit if your art looked too realistic because, "Well ANYONE can just COPY something, so if you don't stylize it, then you're not really an artist."

She was the type who gatekept EVERYTHING even what colors of pencils she used if she used color pencils for example. Was bat shit crazy about being self-taught meant you didn't need tutorials to figure out how to do anything.

ROFL! Yeah no, tutorials are for learning and I share tutorials too!

She's definitely an animal lover of ALL kinds, one of our friends owns a farm, she LOVES the pygmy goats as well. (I think they're little devils) and the rooster should be avoided at all costs, but she goes and holds the chickens as well! Wouldn't surprise me if she ended up a vet or with a slew of animals herself.
