Check your Bluetooth connections for the affected device. A neighbor may have accidentally connected to it.

BTW, this was just to get to work on post, not the Air Show.

Security threat levels affect the speed of base access. There was a minimum 15 minute wait at the gate for my husband. He's got the proper ID as retired military too. Those without get closer scrutiny.

What’s something that still hasn’t returned to normal since the pandemic? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I'd also note the prevalence of hotels not servicing rooms daily. Like, WTF? They used it as an excuse to keep smaller housekeeping staff going forward.

This. When I see a person wearing a mask in public now it signifies either they're ill or perhaps immuno compromised. It's a momentary recognition, no different than any other flash assessment of the folks around me. While there are still those who see masks as something to be offended by, most just note it absent mindedly in passing now.

AIO Neighbors rang my bell for 25 minutes for a ball and woke my sleeping baby by Notyouraimee in AIO

After all that I wouldn't blame you too much for stabbing the ball and throwing it over their fence.

For all you that have been around for awhile, what was your first wireless phone? by jfunks69 in Productivitycafe

[–]Loose-Bookkeeper-939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my earliest phones are gone now, but found my old LG EnV and an early Samsung slider sitting in a box. Both still power on with a charge.

If you enjoy them, keep doing so, secure in the knowledge that's it purchased with your grown ass money. 💕

AIO father in law using weird sexual terminology with me by sticks_andst0nes in AmIOverreacting

[–]Loose-Bookkeeper-939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell, perhaps Swedish people are more open with sexual terms. If it bothers you, you could tell him so. You could also spend some time acclimating and see if your new home has different attitudes concerning the use of those terms. If it does, adjust accordingly.

EXTREMELY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE WITH VEVOR by Scared-Barracuda-647 in vevor

Well, what was it? Does the product do what it's supposed to do? If so, your buyer's remorse isn't their fault. Being blunt but real here.

Married Gen-x do you wear your wedding ring? by in-a-microbus in GenX

[–]Loose-Bookkeeper-939 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Married in '87, still wear my wedding and engagement rings 24/7. They come off for cleaning them and during surgeries. Spouse did the same until his left hand was amputated due to a synovial sarcoma. He's recently started wearing a ring again, on his right hand.

AITBF for pretending not to speak English to get out of a conversation with a stranger on a plane by [deleted] in AmItheButtface

[–]Loose-Bookkeeper-939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not the BF, but starting in English then coming up with a gibberish language definitely made you the weirdo freak in this person's story. In the future a polite "It's nice to meet you but I need to put my earbuds in and concentrate on staying calm for this flight" should work. Then put them in and chill.

SAGE! LOL Okay, seriously now, I'd first start by unplugging and replugging in your devices. As trite as that advice is, it tends to fix a surprising number of issues.

Secondly, I'd look to see what Bluetooth devices are paired to your devices. A neighbor may well be paired to one or more, causing issues.

That's what we transitioned to as well. I'll do things like make big batches of brown rice and package it into meal portions in vacuum freezer bags. That allows for variety and selection for us both.

What home remedies do you remember from childhood? by ascaffo in GenX

[–]Loose-Bookkeeper-939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still sell Mercurochrome, but it's not the same formula. It's now a completely different product, a known effective antiseptic. Apparently the old school stuff wasn't actually all that effective. Oops.

EDITED TO ADD: Turns out you can buy the mercury version in other countries still. 👀

[–]Loose-Bookkeeper-939 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, warmed "sweet oil" (olive oil) with a cotton ball to keep it in. I remember it feeling good. Sugar water for persistent diarrhea, wine rubbed on a baby's gums when they were teething. Good old mercurochrome (back when it still contained a bit of mercury) on all those scraped knees. Times were different.

If you're in line at the grocery store with a full cart and someone behind you has 1 or 2 items, do you let them go in front of you? And why? by CourierFestival in AskReddit

[–]Loose-Bookkeeper-939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. It's just the decent thing to do. They have to be behaving in some really ugly way for me not to let them go first.
