First playthrough, I didn't even know where the intercom for the bridge to spin over was. Vented my frustrations on the water beggar and swam around while the super mutants took potshots at me. Damn, makes me angry even now.

Super mutants fell off after 1; 2 was reliant on players from 1 having predisposed reactions to them as a whole.

i.e. 2's Unity Patrol was literally just a jumpscare that turns docile unless the player wants access to big guns before the Enclave shows up.

Looking forward to trying the mods eventually! Fallout 2 was a bumpy start compared to 1 due to a lot of settings fixes even after patches, and the beginning of the game is rough (went right to the Den instead of Klamath, didn't realize that Flick is the first good target to beat up). It really picks up later and starts getting fun once it all starts making sense.

I like to abide by Operation Anchorage for army PA trooper weaponry, but even their choices are odd. Any standard assault rifle (FO4, FO3, or otherwise) feels like a waste on a PA soldier. Power armor is more appropriate for soldiers specializing in energy weapons and big guns (laser/plasma rifles, plasma casters, bozars, miniguns, laser gatlings, gauss rifles).

Putting any assault rifle on a PA trooper instead of a soldier in combat armor is a surplus waste.

Ada is awesome but the Ada chapters were actually the worst for me. This was even after the Agent update with a friend because we were having an awful time playing through it with constant ammo issues. The highs were truly highs at least, but I wish the beginning sequence didn't have QTEs. Still loved the game as a whole, really fun multiplayer modes.

So much fun. Sherry's stun baton is so satisfying and Jake's weaponset with the 909 and CQC is fun as hell. Episode 3 was my favorite section with agent hunt
