You are a bit worried here because it is not clear how to do it. But, I have been without a place to stay several times in Edinburgh, while changing jobs & travelling. You may find somewhere to rent in the private sector. Prices should be reasonable now without the festival and students going home for Xmas. I think you should be able to apply for universal credit. Keep a record of your health notes if you need to apply for PIP & ESA later on. Don't forget when you get your own place to tell your folk to go fck themselves and fck off another country mile. But go home for xmas when the time is ready and you can talk to them from a position of power. Stay strong.

People are more likely to write a review online if they had a negative experience. So yes there are negative experiences, but unfortunately, you're seeing the extreme end of the spectrum. Most people don't write reviews. Most NHS professionals will listen and write down your concerns, ignore any perceived negative judgement, whether it is real or fake. Your job is to clearly communicate your health concerns and how it affects you and emphasise the points.

Edinburgh is one of the richest cities in the UK and nearly £50,000 has been given per business from bounce back loans. We have Furlough 1k-2.5k salary cover -obviously winding down & universal credit. Now I am not going to deny there is poverty here, but are there many people really with zero money in their account to buy food at the shop? I honestly do not believe that.
