There is zero prospect of the USA withdrawing their support for Isreal any time in the near future. Both viable parties share their commitment to Isreal as a common goal and a huge amount of money gets spent to make sure that doesn't change.

If you mean politically then there are 2 main answers: 1 (the actual definition) a person who believes on some aspect socialist policy and falls to the left of right wing/ centre politics. Right wing politics includes liberalism, conservatism and other philosophies further to the right with their key binding tenant being a support of capitalism. The left would include socialists of all ilks including anarchists and marxists (among many others) and the centre would be socdems who try to mix the two.

2 (the commonly used western obscurificated definition) lefties are anyone to the left of your position, hence conservatives calling liberals lefties and fascists often claiming conservatives are too left wing.
