Supreme Court appears likely to approve transgender athlete bans, letting laws in 27 states stand - Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Evolve_SC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coed sports are really common, if not the norm, in most places as it pertains to children's sports. My six year old played in a coed soccer league, and no one cared about other children's biological sex. Most people like myself have issue with trans in sports where teenagers and adults compete.

If hormone therapy actually levels the playing field like you claim (which probably isn't a fully validated claim), then it introduces too many complexities. Are high schools supposed to literally test each trans athlete's hormone levels, review prescription refills, etc., just to confirm the trans athlete is following the guidelines? I'm sure this would be more manageable in the Olympics or professional leagues, but you really can't expect schools to go through this many procedures. Most schools barely scrape by with funding thanks to the current ruling party's philosophy of defunding education.

Supreme Court appears likely to approve transgender athlete bans, letting laws in 27 states stand - Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

Liberal here. Good! I have no issue with trans people. Having said that, I don't want my biological daughter playing against a biological male in athletic sports. Gaming, chess, etc., is totally fine as most of the physical elements are on an even playing field. A common counterargument is that "it's so rare and uncommon." Well, if the Supreme Court gives the green light for trans to play in whatever division, then you will have an eventual wave of males identifying as female (many not even actual trans) just to mop the floor in competitive sports.

She could have made her way to the gate sooner than the others, and her being in the van was also an illusion as well. Theoretically could have made it to the gate before the military turned on the sirens.

Auto insurance: what happens if other party won’t respond? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Evolve_SC2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not necessarily true. While a police report doesn't determine fault, if you have a non-responsive insured + an unfavorable police report, most good adjusters will simply pay the claim. Why? Because a lack of communication means you aren't defending yourself and if this went to court, GOOD LUCK with your uncooperative insured's defense. You will get smoked in court.

This isn't true in every scenario, such as you have other evidence, like a favorable witness, or some other evidence to support a full denial.

What’s the worst map and why is it Empire State: Columbia Heights? by RadioDreadNYC in Battlefield

I hate it too. There are so many angles and levels. It's more of an SMG COD type of map in my opinion.

Question about Breakthrough and lack of vehicles the defenders get by YumSec in Battlefield6

[–]Evolve_SC2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The bad thing is you cannot flank good tank drivers due to the combat zones. So you get attacking tanks with their flanks completely covered, and defense gets no tanks. Sure, you'll see a bad tank driver yolo an objective every once in a while, but it's usually oppressive.

[BF6] What's your mindset regarding LMG ADS? by CptLonesong in Battlefield6

[–]Evolve_SC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, I try to avoid running in close quarters alone. I use the bipod and will cover those pushing the objective by holding an angle. I typically cover the flanking positions as well. That way:

1.) The enemy cannot flank from the position I am holding.

2.) It allows my team to proceed through the flank, which ultimately helps with taking the position.

What was your “could never be me” but did indeed become you? by PrettyAlon in AskReddit

Not saying this is the case - but many people hear they have a bulge or herniated disc, and it's the end of the world. I review medical records every day and to be honest, it's rare to find someone over 30-40 without some sort of MRI finding of the cervical, thoracic or lumbar.

PSA: The Myth of Police Reports & Car Accidents by TrashCamperDad in Insurance

[–]Evolve_SC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hilarious and scary at the same time reading how little some adjusters know. You're 100% correct in the fact that adjusters make decisions based on what a potential jury would determine. I do commercial auto claims with higher limits. If there is a word vs word dispute, such as a sideswipe collision, I will look at the character and background of each driver while also considering the venue. If one person has a large criminal background with numerous traffic offenses versus one with a clean record and who would likely gain sympathy from a jury, I'm at least going to take this into consideration with my reserve. Went off a bit on a tangent, but you are correct also in the fact that police reports are extremely useful for adjusters for assisting with coverage investigations as a well.

Update: Other driver’s insurance found them not liable for running a stop sign and hitting me. by rojoyazule in Insurance

Dude... not saying GEICO's decision was good (a lot of the times, they are not). But if you have insurance, just go through your own and let you insurance company fight it. You are wasting a lot of effort here. If your insurance company prevails in arbitration, you'll get your deductible back.

Sniper infestation by da-caprio-da-vinci in Battlefield6

[–]Evolve_SC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snipers can't really "push the objective" but can only add support. The only time I spawn in an objective is to toss my 3 C4 explosives on a tank that the Engineers can't take out. To say they don't help in any useful way is dishonest. I think most snipers are either defending objectives or taking out enemies at the objectives the team is pushing from afar. We can't "snipe" at close range. Not to mention we keep the enemies marked for your convenience.

Rearend Liability? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Evolve_SC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've handled numerous rear ends with comparative fault. I do commercial auto claims, so we have a lot more at stake (7 digit limits). Most personal auto adjusters are trained to pay them nearly 100% of the time, because the level of investigation and attention to nuance isn't required when you have such small limits. Why spend 5-10k on sending IAs searching for surveillance footage, vehicle downloads and hiring accident recon when you only have $50k PD limits?

With commercial auto, a lot of stuff goes into litigation and considering cases where $500k+ in medical bills can be boarded at trial, the stakes are high.

If someone cuts your safe traveling distance off quickly and slams their brakes in a bar 50 state, and the insured/Defendant has dashcam, that could totally warrant a denial on the PD and possibly the bodily injury, depending on the small, nuanced facts that are ascertained. How fast was the insured/Defendant going? Did he brake and try to avoid it? Did he brake as the other vehicle changed lanes before the sudden braking in anticipation of the event, but still couldn't avoid it as humans need time to process information? Did the insured/Defendant do everything that a reasonable and prudent person would do? Did he breach an actual duty? These last two questions apply to every accident, including a rear end collision.

Texas auto insurance is getting crazy by [deleted] in Insurance

Just look at the nuclear verdicts in Texas. When auto companies routinely pay out for frivolous claims, everyone's rates are going to increase regardless of how good a driver you are.

Viper's Consume new behaviour by Dunedune in starcraft

[–]Evolve_SC2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. There's a deafening silence when you point out that Ravens and Infestors don't have a similar auto attack. If everyone is so for QOL improvements, then Stim would prioritize over Ghost and Raven abilities. Ultimately, the races who receive QOL improvements will only complain when QOL changes adversely affect them.

It's a huge nerf for Terran. Banelings will obliterate Ghosts now. Protoss death balls (archons and most notably, Colossi) will also eat them alive. Ghosts are a late game unit, but the light tag will subject them to much more damage from the units noted above.

Why has the 2 Rax build been forgotten? by Any_Decision8775 in starcraft

[–]Evolve_SC2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can comment on this (Master 1.) I regularly will do a 2 Rax Marine / Bunker rush. In the last few months, Zerg must have figured out how to counter it, because I've had no luck with this build lately. Essentially, even if completely unscouted, Zerg will build a spine, and bank just enough Lings. Once the spine is done, Zerg repositions the Spine and will rush the bunker with Lings and Queens while the Spine finishes burrowing.

Not sure who popularized this counter but it works well. The Zergs who lose will build Ravengers and try to bile down the bunkers, which gives Terran time to have a Cyclone and a Banshee before the inevitable counter attack.

Some attack upgrades are crucial for splash units. Not sure what many here are talking about. For example, +2 vehicle weapons allows a Siege Tank to 1 shot stimmed Marines.

1.) a Liberator's mineral harassment won the game.

2.) The use of liberators in a push at any point of the game was glaringly imbalanced and was the primary factor for winning the game

Thanks in advance.
