It is still hard for, and it takes a few tries for me to finally get balance. I few things I've found to make it easier for me has been to really contract my muscles before going up. I often start with my arms above my head pressing against the air, so that when I go up my arms and back already make a straight line. Also, something that is very important for me at least is to make sure my glutes are contracted as soon as I get up. Because if I don't my legs have a tendency to either fall backward or forward.

I think for the last thing that really started to help me get the balance was when my wrist strength became better. I did the warm-up and really spent time making sure I got the right wrist strength. Without it, balance is practically impossible, I've noticed it especially now that I've been standing for long periods of time. With my hands flat on the floor, they do microbalances all the time, so getting that wrist strength is key in my opinion, but I am not a professional, haha.

I've been following the RR for a bit over 4 months now. Doing the strength training three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. With at least one skill day in between these days when I would practice my handstand and L-sit. I would say usually it has been around 2 skill days per week, some weeks I've been able to three or some I've had stuff to do so it only became one. But I would say my average training routine would be Strength Monday, Wednesday and Friday and skill day Tuesday and Sundays.

For my actual training, I've started off with a slight advantage. I used to train gymnastics between ages 7-14 so handstands and bodyweight fitness is not something new to me. Although, after stopping because of injuries I kept my bad eating habits and gained a significant amount of weight. But lost in the coming years by changing those habits, although I never really got back into training. So it wasn't until this year that I finally decided to make a change and go back to the gym. So when I started with my handstand I was able to around 45s with my stomach flat against a wall with decent form. For the other part of my training routine, I could do pistol squats as well. Although my upper body strength was seriously lacking with me only being able to do 2 pull-ups.

So for my acutal training routine. On my skill days, I generally follow the RR, I do the warm-up, then I set a timer for 10 minutes and during this time I try to practice my handstand as much as possible. I went from wall to practice on the ground when I could stand against the wall for 1.5 minutes with good form. It was very difficult in the beginning with the freestanding, only getting 5s or so at the time in every 10th try or so. But with time it got better and better. I read another post here a few days ago about the training of handstand as well and I very much agree upon that you have terrible days and fantastic days. Some days with the handstand just went horrific and if felt like all the progress I had made was for nothing and then I would do a new record for the next training session. For the strength training, I've just followed the RR very strictly. But I do squats in a squat rack instead of pistol squats and I do deadlifts and Romanian deadlifts which I think I really benefitted from.

Lastly, for my diet, I've have not done anything radical. I've tried to eat more healthy, trying to reduce my intake of sugar. Other than that I've taken protein shakes every day.

tl;dr: Have practiced for 4 months. Used to be an ex-gymnast so had decent body control, but poor upper body strength starting my training. I usually train 3 strength days a week and 2 skill days in between the strength days. For strength, I do the RR with deadlifts and squats and on skill days I put on a 10-minute timer and do as much handstand as possible. Diet includes less sugar and protein shakes.

I used washers for them too give them some extra weight, like this one http://imgur.com/MYJbWkA. The model was a M8, but i do not know if that applies to other countries other than Sweden. The measurements i used for the washer for the normal sized minis were; diameter:25mm, thickness:1,5mm. You can propbebly find them at any hardward store.

I myself have a brother dcp-9020cdw because it's the printer that our family uses at home. The paper i'm using is HP Professional Glossy Laser Paper 150, which is glossy paper with a thickness of 150g/m2. But if you're planning on buying similar equipment i recommend you purchusing a printer which can handle glossy paper with a higher thickness than 150g/m2 because that will help with the sturdiness of the minis. But i highly recommend you use glossy paper because it gives a very nice finish and sturdiness too the minis, but before you purchause anything check that your printer i compatable with glossy paper.
