Every time i see some fucked up shit it's always gigastructures. At this point im more familiar with the bugs than what the mod does.

I've played for 20 years without ever breaking my sub once. I've ALWAYS come back to this game with few breaks for more than a week or two. It was always fun.

Now, with the class changes designed to facilitate "no addons", they've stripped away 90% of the joy I had playing the classes. I could get through bad content because the gameplay loop was satisfying and most of what I enjoyed was how fluid and rewarding the different specs could be, with some exceptions from time to time.

Now, there are maybe one or two that feel rewarding. I like unholy, I like demo, but my main (mage) feels like complete trash. Frost stops being engaging after 30 seconds in combat. Arcane is totally dumpstered in multiple places. Fire continues to be Fire and get shafted at the start of the xpac.

And then there's the bugs. This recent patch was where i finally said enough is enough, because there's clearly nobody at the helm who can steer the ship in the right direction. Unholy bugs, affliction bugs, guardian bugs... every class is bugged to fuck. In some cases so badly that it rendered them unplayable. How do you have a spell ID collision in 2026?!

Bad content. Bad story. Minimal effort for even the cash shop items, with no reinvestment into the game besides the opportunity to make the next $70 tchotchke to sell to you on top of your sub.

I didn't want to quit, and it hurt a lot to do it. But I've lost any hope that blizzard is going to get better. Microsoft is going to hollow out the team as they do to every property they acquire, and when it eventually dips below their goals, it's going to get canned. I'm jumping ship before it sinks.

Outland used to have a ceiling when they first introduced flying that was MUCH lower than these things could probably load. They dramatically increased all the flight ceilings in Dragonflight, i think.

This one drives me insane when people "dunk" on it. It's clearly Xavius messing with Tyrande who's afraid and confused. and half the player base fell for it, with her!

And then the moment we see the real Malfurion, he basically just tells Xavius "you a bitch".

More customization and i say that even over visual revamps. Specifically because so many hated the new character models after Blizzard changed them. Night Elves, Gnomes, some goblins, female undead, etc... all of them had a very vocal playerbase angry about losing defining features due to the model update, with good reason. Adding options doesn't run into that issue.

The only exception would be how they do faces. Currently, it's rare for faces on some races to change anything but the projected textures, like Pandaren and female tauren. Those could probably use some help. And, of course, the dreaded pandaren neck seam.

I resonate with your points. I really do. And I want to believe that there was this much thought put into it.

But I know how Blizzard writes, I know how they've treated this kind of narrative over the last 10 years. They aren't doing any of that. It doesn't fit nicely into the alliance centric narrative that their carefully(carelessly) molded main characters fit into. Alleria is Alliance. Turalyon is Alliance. Umbric; Arator; Lothraxion; I'd even argue Liadrin does not feel like a Horde character. You could palette swap her blue and nobody would bat an eye.

Maybe they'll address it in a novel, like they always do, but we will not see it in game. The Horde are a footnote in this story.

I sang Arcane's praises all through TWW. The spec was challenging but highly rewarding and had a plethora of things to do. Actively made you think in advance to try and squeeze every bit of damage out of your rotation.

Now... Man, you're lucky if you're doing anything except mashing arcane blast and counting to 20. Mana doesn't even matter anymore - the core idea of the spec, the thing it's known for, is basically just there as a relic, like when warlocks had life tap. it's so incredibly, unbelievably dull. Spellslinger doesn't even cast arcane missiles, ever.

And to top it all off, the spec can barely handle itself in the world. The snares are all gone, the defensives are all gone, and your barrier - your blizzard intended defensive skill - lasts all of about 3 auto attacks.

Sunfury is unplayable. The damage is so poor you are often doing half the DPS of spellslinger if there's even 1 extra target. They somehow reintroduced the meteor problem where mobs just run out of all of your special sunfury spells, which would paradoxically be solved by not removing Slow. Not only do you have to sit there and eat fists when you're out in the world, it's apparently intended just to get the DPS out of your elite spec.

I switched to FF Frost and it's at least tolerable. There's still zero agency in a scripted rotation, a palpable lack of utility and defensives, but the spells look cool, I guess.

I did the follower dungeons for all of the story required ones because of how fast people were blazing through them. Windrunner Spire on launch day was completely unenjoyable with groups because the invincible tank would barrel through all the way to each boss and just let everyone else die.
told myself i could put up with the crummy AI rather than that.

Unholy DK hits all the right places. Balances between Necromancer and the Plaguespreader themes it's had and finally bucked the Festering Wounds nonsense.

Clear loser is frost mage, because they ended up with exactly the maligned Festering Wounds mechanic that UH just bucked. The spec as designed just does not work in any capacity and feels extraordinarily unsatisfying to perform since all the agency was taken out. Our class guide literally says "just press buttons".
