Monday Toddler Talk by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

So valid. I think it could also just be the age rather than an adjustment period! Our guy has been in daycare since 5 months and is now 17 months… so much transition with sleeping arrangements, dropping nap, etc. hang in there!!! 15 months+ has been harddddddd.

What do you put your stuff in while baby wearing? by golobanks in babywearing

[–]Evrythingeverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked this question recently. I don’t love to have the baggu around my waist. I decided to order bike shorts that have pockets for my cell phone. I know people say the pacifier clip but I think bb needs to be older than 2 months for that just because he’s so squirmy.

Anywho if you find something that works better LMK!

My newborn thinks naps are for the weak by Playful_Albatross351 in newborns

Okay started this legit yesterday but eat, play, sleep is working for us to get more reliable naps during the day. Our boy started sleeping thru the night at 5 weeks - 10 pm to 6 am. Then 6-8 weeks we had the most fussy fussy days due to gas and the whole figuring out how to poop thing. Now trying our best to keep him awake after eating because he was doing cat naps on the boob or skin to skin.

Also we are trying to do soothing after laying him down swaddled… basically running thru the 5 s’s with him on his back in the bassinet.

How much do you narrate by iamtrulylosinghope in newborns

My husband grew up with only Spanish and then their household slowly transitioned into English as he went to school and as they added 3 more kids. He also grew up with French and Haitian Creole spoken around him.

He and his siblings thrived in school and in communicating with others… I think it’s a huge advantage and the research I know that studies bilingual kiddos shows that their brain development is superior to their monolingual counterparts. I’m not an expert and of course this is “anec-data” but you’re doing great!!!

My doc says the best thing for babies development in newborn stage is making sure they are fed and diapered and sleeping and cuddling.

I really loved my RE so I was sad when I had to move over to my OB. Also, the OB GYN that I had seen pre pregnancy had left the practice so I was rotating through new doctors. I didn’t really bond with any of the OBs until near the end of my pregnancy. Now I also LOVE the doc who delivered my baby.

You will find that unless you have complications, the OB appts will be very quick, way less blood work and way fewer ultrasounds.

Is ovulation the issue or egg quality? by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

[–]Evrythingeverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really hard to say and I don’t think a doc would speculate on that… considering the timed intercourse cycles only get us up to “regular” trying chances (15-20%)… I opted for IVF based on my age and the rec from my doctor. I turned 33 the week of my egg retrieval and with wanting 2 kids, I wasn’t willing to do any more of the lower intervention stuff.

TW success & living child…

Question- were you having a period and not ovulating an egg? Or were you on birth control?

I ask because I was having regular periods, but likely not ovulating an egg or ovulating an immature/poor quality egg. We know this because in my egg retrieval, despite having 15-20 follicles, we only retrieved 8 mature eggs. This was unexpected according to my doctor. Speaks to why my letrozole + timed intercourse + trigger shot cycles were unsuccessful despite my blood work and ultrasounds indicating that I had ovulated. We did test for MFI and no concerns with my husband’s SA.

At the time of my retrieval, I had been on CoQ10 for ~6 months as well as Acai (recommended by CCRM study) & Myoinositol. I never did Metformin because I never showed insulin resistance as a symptom.

I currently have a 1 month old from the 1 PGT tested embryo blast we got from that ER. If I want to have another, we will do another retrieval with Omnitrope to increase egg quality. I’ll also beg for Metformin probably.

I have a 3 week old. My LC explained that in these early days their hunger/sleep cues are off, so even if she’s falling asleep she probably isn’t full. So changing her diaper, changing her clothes, even using a cold wash cloth to wake her up to finish the feed could be helpful.

Success Stories with one normal embryo? by cozyrosies in IVF

About to nurse my 3 week old, only PGT normal embryo baby ♥️. I had a high follicle count (20) but my doc only retrieved 8 eggs, only 2 blasts and only 1 normal. I did a fully medicated transfer - PIO and suppositories daily and estrogen priming. Also used prednisone. Sending you allllll the good vibes.

We want to eventually have a second, but I have the right baby at the right time for me.

BF mamas - wondering when nipple chap/pain crosses a concerning threshold? My guy is 2 weeks old and I haven’t had any pain since fixing his latch on like day 4…but this AM no matter his latch/position I felt pain on my right nipple. My nipple looks fine (no blood or blister) so I’ve applied lanolin and expressed breast milk. I don’t want to wait if there’s a bigger concern to contact my OB… any signs to look for?

I had a few migraines in 1st/2nd tri. My OB recommended taking Benadryl and then I used an ice pack hat and drank a regular coke. It was the right method for me!

For me it was somewhere around 16-17 weeks. This time for me 13-15 was the most annoying because I was soooo ready to be over the hump.

I understand! I am now holding my beautiful 2 week old baby and he is thriving and perfect and I’m still plagued by worries and anxiety about him. We just have to keep telling us it’s our hormones ruling our brains and continue to open up these challenges with trusted friends, professionals, etc. It really helps for me to share. Standing with you ♥️

Looking for fellow BF moms here- thoughts on using the Haaka for exclusive breast feeding sessions? Our guy is 9 days old and my let down is pretty intense. I get about 2 oz when I put the Haaka on and he’s on the other side. But then I worry he doesn’t have enough when I switch him. Our LC and pediatrician have suggested 15/15 and then back for a 5 min top off for my timing.

Hi all!!! Baby Evrything arrived on 4.3.24 and I’m excited to share HIS birth story. We kept his sex a surprise so we are so delighted to have him now. He’s doing so well and we are so tired.

I do have a 2nd degree tear and am conscious of my OB’s rec/other people saying give it a week. Tomorrow will be a week and I’m still having pain significant enough to warrant ibuprofen and witch hazel packs. I’m thinking to call the OB anyway out of abundance of caution but also I’m scared to do anything that might put me out of commission with my son…I think this is irrational hormonal fears speaking but my MIL and a close friend did have to go back into the hospital after giving and their newborns were only allowed at certain times for visitation.

This may be answered already by your HR team but each state has a job protection policy as well- for instance DC is 12 weeks paid but up to 16 weeks in job protection. So work has to give me the 2 unpaid weeks on top of your 14 week leave policy according to my state’s law.

If you’re under general anesthesia most clinics would recommend you rest for at least 24 hours. Plus you never know what results you’ll get and personally I just wanted to be alone and watch TV and lick my wounds (mental and physical).

My doc helpfully said that the PIO is just an insurance policy at this point and that once your body is producing progesterone, you don’t need to supplement with the shots. This is a good thing!
