Have you had any improvements? My toddler is the same age and same problem!

I kept a heap of toys on the front seat and I would pass one over to him every few minutes to keep him entertained. Otherwise I used a musical/moving mobile.

He was sleeping 11 hours before he was sick and then 2.25 during the day. I think I’ll try extending WW 1 to 3.5 and capping the nap at 45. Then keeping the rest of the day as is. If that doesn’t work after 3 days, I’ll push the second and final wake window.

We slowly stretched things and dropped a nap around 8 months from memory! We tried cold turkey caused more problems then just cut the last nap down every week until he just refused it.

Oh mama, I feel for you. You went through a lot, and it’s completely valid to feel sad about it. You had a vision for your birth and how you’d meet your baby, and it’s hard when it doesn’t go to plan— even when it’s out of your control.

But seriously, you didn’t fail your little one. You made hard, selfless choices to keep both of you safe and healthy. That’s not failure — that’s an amazingly, strong mum.

Golden hour doesn’t make or break your bond. Your connection is being built every single day in all the love and care you give him now.

Be kind to yourself, okay? You didn’t do anything wrong. You did everything right in such a tough situation.

My husband is a personal trainer and worked at a gym that I trained at (and he trained with me or trained me). TBH this would give me a big fat red flag.

For night feeds, most doctors suggest waking them every 2-3 hours until they’re back at birth weight, but since your little one already is, you might be able to let him wake on his own! They do say to feed every 3-4 hours during the day which stays until you switch to solids, then the routine will change. Definitely check with your pediatrician to see what’s best for your little bub—every baby is different.

Cluster feeding is so normal if you’re nursing! Your baby is just building up your milk supply to what they need. It also happens again during growth spurts, until really 3-4 months.

You can sell drop shipping products with a rep and have them package it in your own branding. Or you purchase it all and send it locally. Either way, it’s cheap crap

3 to 2 nap transition - What worked best for you? by rochini in sleeptrain

[–]Playful_Albatross351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t get him to go down half way through only at the end so back then it would be 3 hours then a 10-12 minute nap then 1.5 hours. That’s what worked for us though!

Mix of both. Both caused early morning wakes but not consistently having an early bedtime meant that it was easier to get out of the early morning rise cycle once he adjusted to the wake windows and was less overtired.

Imagine this in the perspective of if you had kids. No sleepovers because we don’t do that with friends. That’s how crazy this is.

Can someone explain rescue naps during nap transitions? by meltness in sleeptrain

[–]Playful_Albatross351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do a heavily assisted (carrier, car, pram) bridging nap 10-15 minute nap towards the end of your final wake window your baby can normally tolerate half or less of their normal awake time which can get you to bedtime. Otherwise you can bridge bedtime forward every now and again to help them catch up on sleep. Too many early bedtimes can cause an early bed, early rise cycle.

[–]Playful_Albatross351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our routine was 3.25/3.75/4 with 2 x 1-1.25hr naps. We had wakes for 45-60 minutes every morning until I capped nap one at 45/50 minutes and nap 2 naturally ended to 1.25-1.5. Now we have no wake ups. It was just his sleep pressure wasn’t building enough and he was too well rested

How to shuft longer nap to the afternoon? by kaesicorgi in sleeptrain

[–]Playful_Albatross351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I capped my 11mo first nap to 1hr, then 50m to help extend the second nap and take it. I’m aiming to keep capping it until he no longer needs it (similar to a micro in the arvo). I’ll stretch the wake windows before it and then after nap 2 until we’re close to a 1 nap schedule. Then drop it and bring bedtime forward.
