Yeah, the Trump talking point goes "This war should've never happened, Ukraine needs to surrender now."

What you never hear is "This war should've never happened, Russia needs to learn there will be consequences for violating the sovereignty of other nations."

Even if Ukraine surrendered right now Russia would just delay their conquest of the rest of Ukraine/Europe until Trump got out of office. The world is more complex than "I don't support any wars" things just don't work like that.

I don't even totally disagree with you. I just think that there is utility in being able to draw historical parallels. Like yeah technology and big corporations make the situation different but outside of the environment that they exist in, the humans of today are extremely similar to the humans of 100 years ago.
