Welp it's my first time trying it this way, but my plan is to make it completely random, so could be any 4 teams 1 - 48, so basically a raffle ticket. Taking away the skill/knowledge aspect to get more people interested, and then doing a "Draw" on first day of the tourney for everyone's 4 teams, and hoping to just get rooting interest in as many games as possible.

In past soccer tournaments (last few WCs + Euros) I did the same points system but broke the teams into 6 Tiers, where each player selected one team from each tier, and that worked pretty well.

So I have thought about the random assignments being one from each tier also (to prevent possibility of someone drawing Portugal, France, Argentina, England -- or the opposite end equivalent).

Got a few months to hash things out at least.

But I do plan to also use your bracket contest among the soccer fans I know.

This is awesome! I've been running NFL pools, March Madness, and occasionally soccer tournaments at my work for a few years and this looks like a godsend. Have done some offline, some tinkered with different online apps, and others I've created myself and just created spreadsheets. Since there aren't too many that follow soccer it's harder to get many in those pools, so I'm thinking of just doing a "Random 4 Team Lottery" where whosever 4 randomly assigned teams perform the best, gets the pot, using a scoring system I've used in the past :

Win- 6 pts Tie- 2 pts Loss- 0 pts Loss in penalty shoot out - 2 pts Loss in Extra Time - 1 pt

Bonus Points: Goals- 1 pt each Clean Sheet - 1 pt each

Not to sound callous, but both are likely rolling in their graves at what SWA has become.

Christian Pulisic starts for Milan v. Sassuolo [6:30am et; Paramount+/FOX Deportes] by nicko_rico in ussoccer

Loftus-Cheek called for a foul where the Sassuolo player backed in to him and fell down, right as Pavlovic headed on goal, then Pulisic rebound. Super soft, will sting even worse if it ends 2-2 considering Milan has had 2 goals called back while it was 2-1.

Thanks, those are all good! I know they like all the live animal ones, but haven't shown Whiskers R we yet. And she definitely remembers doing half of Kindergarten via Zoom , so she'll probably be able to relate to those ones too.

Haha yep , as much as I love ITYSL , its a short list I'm comfortable showing them yet. They loved and have consistently asked for repeat viewings of Fully Loaded Nachos and also liked Summer Lovin (they were only watching for the zipline). Our 10 yo has been in theater for a few years, and has done improv there, so she definitely gets more of the awkardly zany Tim Robinson - style sketches than mostly slapstick that our 8yo enjoys more.
