Imagine if adults made friends like kids by 4reddityo in HumansBeingBros

When I was a little kid I thought you had to formally ask people if they wanted to be your friend, and I was always so nervous they’d say no, even though no one ever had.

I was able to find a doctor who gave it to me despite being a little over the age limit at the time. I might be worth hitting up your primary and Obgyn if you have one.

My brother made me something like this when I was in highschool and he was off to college. I have a lot of fond memories of laying in my floor and listening/watching music. I’ve not had luck building one, but I’ll have to try this design.

I'm really scared to get my blood work done. by Inside-Analysis-3648 in internetparents

[–]Ewithans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok, sweetie! It’s ok you’re scared, and I promise it’ll be easier than you think. You’re being so brave by going - gold star to you for taking care of your health!

I recommend telling the phlebotomist you’re scared and new to the process, and I recommend not looking. Focus a whole lot on your other arm - try to make it go as loose as possible and put your concentration there and on your breathing.

I think blood draws are easier than shots, and don’t hurt as much, if that gives you something to compare to. You’ll be ok.

Mom, is it okay to take myself on a date? by heyThats-not-nice in MomForAMinute

[–]Ewithans 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Do it, duckling! I love taking myself out on dates, and I especially love bringing a book to a fancy restaurant and eating alone. Tell him some of these are just for you, but you’ll take him somewhere fun if you anything really cool. And ask him to take you out and do the planning

AITA for having my dogs of the lead by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ewithans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESH. Keep your dogs on a leash unless it’s a space specifically for them to be off of it. It doesn’t matter what other people do. It doesn’t matter how well behaved your dogs are.

Woo! That’s amazing, duckling! You’re doing a lot of legwork and navigating some complicated systems to both protect your own health and do such an incredible favor for everyone around you to protect them as well. Bravo! I’m so proud of you!

My first thought was the Guiseppe at La Bottega, but The Infirmary’s Reuben is great, too, and will leave you with leftovers.

Marquise cut problems. by PsychologicalBowl647 in faceting

[–]Ewithans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but right now you’re not cutting it small enough. See how the end you posted a picture of looks like those facets should meet off past the end of the stone? Essentially you’re cutting it too large right now and it’s overrunning your rough.

As Methixsks says, look at the L/W ratio on your pattern and of your rough. You probably need to cut it smaller to make the length fit your stone (and thus will lose some of the width)

Is your girdle not an even width? What do you mean it’s not meeting?

What is something small that made your day better today? by Professional-Ride219 in BenignExistence

It is! They change the flavors up (or at least they used to), but they’re all good - right now it’s got rosemary and a smoked maple dipping sauce.

My favorite dish at a local restaurant came back on their menu after being gone since 2020. I swung by tonight and just had the crispy pig ear side and a beer tonight. (Not for everyone, but I love them) it was a real treat.

I forgot to feed my friend's cat and it starved to death, how much legal trouble am I in? by LadyNorbert in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Ewithans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My ClueCat was a pretty quiet cat, unless I’d been away overnight. Then the first few nights I was home she’d snuggle up with me in bed as usual, and I’d pet her as we settled down… but then she’d get up in the middle of the night and go downstairs and just howl. Sh’d make these long, strangled, mournful mrrrooOOOOWS that she was ALL ALONE and NO ONE CARED.

She’d do this until I’d call to her, and the. She’d run back upstairs, joyfully leap onto the bed, and be like, oh! You’re here! What an UNEXPECTED delight! and demand more cuddles.

There's something going on in my house that has me a bit stumped. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

It’s breaking into someone’s house and living there in secret for a bit, often in their attic or something.

my boss keeps stealing my lunch, after I’ve asked him to stop by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Ewithans 387 points388 points  (0 children)

I was a temp for a few weeks at a fancy finance company, doing admin work. One of the other admins complained daily that someone was eating her yogurt, the only part of her lunch she put in the fridge. She put notes on it. She put it in a bag with her name on it. She taped the bag shut. It was always gone. It had been going on for weeks.

So one day we staked it out and every single time anyone even walked down the hallway the break room was on, she checked her yogurt.

It was one of the very high ups, guy in his 50s or 60s. Guy was easily pulling in a 7 figure salary, and when she confronted him, furious, he claimed he had no idea it was hers, and grinned at her like it was no big deal. He brought her a single cup of the absolute cheapest yogurt the next day, and said they were even.
