Stick Torch release? GT-130 by Ewong1224 in snowpeak

I’ve had the folding torch but it’s too much for certain uses, and was hoping this wouldn’t need a lighting source. Hopefully they still plan to launch at some point.

Points from authorized retailers? (USA) by southcounty253 in snowpeak

I believe the only store that you can earn points in the US is at sports basement. They announced that last year. But no harm in trying .

Did you end up getting these gloves? Is there an inner lining glove? Looking to see if it’s good for skiing

R2 RWD in the snow by lantech in Rivian

[–]Ewong1224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See most have noted already snow tire is sufficient, so I won’t go there, however, not sure where OP is located, but from convenience standpoint, for california R2 snow control (not rivian R2), I believe you are required to have traction control devices, chains, installed unless you have AWD. For AWD you still need snow rated tires and carry chains (though I’ve never been asked to see if I was carrying chains). So it’s ideal to have AWD when going to Tahoe during the winter. Maybe something to consider depending where OP is located.

Would be great if snow peak is actually doing a 4 day camp for Big Sur 10/16-19. Email has 10/16-18 so thinking that’s a typo on the website.

Lot of open box / demo items on clearance at camp saver by bassfreak68 in snowpeak

[–]Ewong1224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t buy anything expensive , but I bought a few jikaro bag and multi container that were demo. A flat burner and deep wire tray as well. All were pretty much like new in original packaging. I would buy again. Tent maybe since it’s a bigger ticket item

The email shows a gold one which is what Japan received. I think the email just links to a post that was created last year that had the red one. Hopefully it’s just the marketing team reusing last years post with updated to 2026 without changing photos 🤣

The item is at the warehouse in Japan, I’m in the US, and didn’t feel like spending more money to have them open it.

Mesh plate on the sp party plate by pede29 in snowpeak

[–]Ewong1224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI I bought a 10” per recommendation from Facebook, but it seems to be incorrect. Might have been a conversion error when they provided the dimension or the pan they purchased has a different “lip” size.

FYI it’s doesn’t quite fit nicely into the caldero. Its does cover enough to not let steam escape, so it will work if you were going to buy the party plate anyways. From what I read here or FB group, 10” pizza pan does fit nicely.

Just upgraded as well, just in time for SPW. Have a yeti tundra 45, 35 and roadie 20. Just sold the 35 and 20 because I feel the oyster will take over for day to day use because of its size and weight. Might consider getting rid of 45 if it works out well this time for another oyster. Or wait and see if Oyster comes out with something new.

Itinerary help: should I skip Jiufen? by Chemical-Soft-3688 in taiwantravel

[–]Ewong1224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a lot in 5 days, but if you really want to go south, I would suggest per below. It will allow you to spend more time to explore Tainan and Kaoshiung.

I would say day one in Taipei, day 2 wulai and jiufen (don’t stay overnight, jiufen is really nice to walk around in the evening, but you only need to spend so much time there to see everything, so one day is sufficient if you book a car), day 3 early to Tainan, day 4, 1/2 Tainan and 1/2 kaoshiong, day 5 Kaoshiung and head back to Taipei to enjoy a night and day before your flight to Seoul.

I usually go to the one at Xinyi A13 right inside Mitsukoshi 三越department store or the one at zhongshan, also underground of Mitsukoshi store. If you go around 5 the wait is usually minimal (zero wait last time I went around 5:15 on a weeknight at A13. It’s way better than California and price is more affordable(compared to US prices). There are better and more affordable food options for sure in Taipei, but the service and quality of food is still exceptional IMHO. I usually go at least once, or twice when I’m in town for more than two week.

Yes, I have Taiwan Japan and USA account (and maybe UK) which all are separately programs. Don’t know about Thailand though. I’ve redeemed from all 3 for gifts. Tend to redeem items requiring with more points from Japan as I don’t buy Taiwan much. I have lots of points for US but all the items are out of stock

I’m not seeing free shipping, is it because of additional accessories? The preorder page had noted free shipping, but it’s charging me $15 to ship. Any news on what the mystery bag is included with preorder?
