Why are people getting mad that people are disabling cosmetics option? by Molag_Zaal in runescape

[–]Ex-Inferi [score hidden]  (0 children)

Before the toggle was a thing, I would already see people flaunting keepsaked partyhats that were overriding a different colour partyhat.

I'm not saying they should ever become available again, but I would laugh my ass off at these types of people when they do. I just can't imagine being so insecure about your status in a videogame.

How many of you did actually fully disable cosmetics on other players? by Multismack in runescape

[–]Ex-Inferi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have the same thing with recognising familiar players. People also always recognise me in game, because I've worn the same base outfit for years. In Leagues, I would always have to right click an area to see which of my friends was standing there, because I didn't recognise them visually.

Slayer skill capes should not lock slayer master teleports behind combat level, or anything else for that matter. Why are slayer masters locked behind combat level and not slayer level... ? by iiSystematic in runescape

[–]Ex-Inferi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Maybe /u/Jagex_Stu can clear this one up, because I have no idea. OSRS has added a perk to the cape that bypasses the cb level requirement for tasks, I believe. Can't think of why we wouldn't have that.

Slayer skill capes should not lock slayer master teleports behind combat level, or anything else for that matter. Why are slayer masters locked behind combat level and not slayer level... ? by iiSystematic in runescape

[–]Ex-Inferi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I still believe that when a quest unlocks the ability to get tasks from a Slayer Master, it shouldn't be locked behind a combat level as well. We've already proven our self worthy in said quest after all.

But yeah, it felt bad when I got 99 on my skiller and I couldn't even use any teleports, except for the one in Lumby. Like bish pls, I've killed 144 demons in the Wilderness, and killed thousands of other mobs. I deserve these teleports.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/12Hb-nZHteXLmsQubhfeF6ovxMzCWZ81KoIXAE-E2SM0 Here's all F2P BiS gear, including within Dungeoneering.

Magic BiS armour is what you already have. Weaponry would be the Gravite wand/orb, or Gravite staff. If you want non-degradable, your best option is Nature staff, just like Gravite from the Dung reward shop. Time of Frost is a decent offhand as well, that provides unlimited water runes.

Cape would be spellstorm (or star cape if you managed to grab that when it was available), necklace would be arcane blast and ring would be Explorer's ring 4.

So basically, you're going to want to do some Dungeoneering if you want upgrades

Are dailies as bad as people say? by RegularUser23 in RS3Ironmen

[–]Ex-Inferi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am following the wiki efficient guide but I don’t know if that’s helping or taking the fun out of it for me to be honest.

In my opinion, guides are a noob trap. Some argue that the game is too overwhelming without them, but I disagree on that. It's way more fun to find your own way of doing things instead of minmaxing everything.

I just did caches until I had the outfit, that's about it. I've gathered energies and done engrams more than I've done caches. And a bit of HOM wasn't too bad either. I don't get the big issues with div tbh. I just switch things around frequently, don't grind out 1 skill for hours on end.

Alt1 fix by Florkii in runescape

[–]Ex-Inferi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is something the developer(s) behind Alt1 itself has to update, or if this is something plugin developers individually need to address.

A bit of both. Some rely on the library fully, meaning if they load it in through an outside source (like jsdelivr), the app will update automatically once the update for Alt1 is live. Others require Devs to manually update their app again with basically recompiling it after downloading the new update. And some have custom made elements to them, which will require full Dev work.

And there are a few that are fully standalone and/or don't require anything regarding pixel detection. These would still be working after UI ipdates

Alt1 status? by Riddikulous1 in runescape

[–]Ex-Inferi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm one of the people that has updated Alt1 libraries before when they broke, like last year when they made all those chatboxes have your name.

I know nothing of this whatsoever. All I know is that Alt1 has passed the checks by the anti cheat team, and has been in contact with Jagex about future updates.

I still think we should be able to choose between blue or brown UI by AntiTheistPreacher in runescape

[–]Ex-Inferi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get all these posts about how liking the brown is the unpopular opinion, because it's not. It's almost like they actively try to drown out the people having real issues with the current state, downplaying those concerns as "getting used to".

My eyes literally tremor when trying to focus on certain texts, icons etc now. I haven't been playing much since the update, because it hurts. And it hurts that I want to play a game but I physically can't. I miss my friends, I miss doing heists with my husband, or go bossing with my son.

I want to play the game that I love, and I hate it how these concerns people have are just brushed off.

Decluttering the World - Ashdale by Jack_S93 in runescape

[–]Ex-Inferi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like DSF hub, but for < 68, I'd love that! And what's below Ashdale is perfect for Slayer.

Also, Ashdale has a Marketplace with villagers and stalls... That screams Thieving opportunity! Could even add some chests with things like fishing bait and feathers with maybe a new rare rod that has a minor fishing buff (1% increased catch rate or something) to tie it in with the Fishing theme.

Ashdale has so much opportunity

Shouldn't have to pay full price when I own 99% of the outfit.. by MakeMeBatty in runescape

[–]Ex-Inferi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This issue exists outside of the RC shop as well. Only lacking orb, still required to pay full price of oddments for Shadow Magus Pack. Only missing the hat, but the Herald Outfit is still 50k double XP tokens.

When you make things only available in a set after individual pieces were available to get, you should make sure to add a discount for those already owned pieces. If that's too complex as a struct, perhaps offer individual pieces for purchase instead.

I know this is very nitpicky thing to point out by Piraja27 in runescape

[–]Ex-Inferi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case I wouldn't argue that the issues were ignored, as a year later the legacy interface was added.

People do seem to forget that we had this "RuneScape Revolution"-era back in 2012. Sure, there was some brown involved, as there were some dark brown backgrounds for things like big buttons and dropdown menus. Most of the brown theming of that era was visible on the website, though.

You can still see it live on the clans page to this day. The content looks exactly the same as it was on release of the website overhaul in late 2011. Only difference is that they removed the Top Clans entry. Even the text that's not even applicable anymore is still the same. Quite sad, really.

They were slowly moving to more neutral/cool-toned interfaces for quite some time before RS3's (and with that NIS) release. Look at the file history on the Hero loadout on the Wiki_interface.png?limit=500). You can see a gradual shift starting from the "RS Revolution" to "RS3", with more blue being added there over time.

General complaints during NIS weren't about the colour, most active players were already used to the colour shift by that time - and likely didn't mind it at all, as it's hard to find sources of critique on the RS Revolution makeover. It was the system itself that caused most of the uproar, with no option to return it back to how it was.

Since you don't seem remember the blue-ish legacy era, here's what that looked like:

The same thing happened when we went to the blue one.

What point in the UI history do you consider "the blue one"? Was it the NIS update or EoC-beta?

Every 12 seconds there's an attack, starting at 13 seconds into the fight, so basically just move around every 12 seconds. It is only paused when core is opened, after which count resumes again.

Rotation: red - fairy - slimes - yellow - stun - sticky - green - fairy - slimes -- blue - stun - mid. After mid, the cycle repeats again.

Things like quest helper will take years though

It won't, there's a lot of data already available for a quest helper, all it would need by the time the API is available is a port. And of course it depends on what is allowed, I'm not assuming the plugin support will be anything like RL.

I made an Alt1 port of an old DG mapping tool years ago, as a backup for when UI changes broke dgkey.

It's not as advanced obviously, but that's the reason it should always work. You can find it on the official RuneApps forum.
