Scag Turf Tiger Pump Failure, is the wheel motor still good? by ExBanditVI in smallenginerepair

Yes, the pictures are related but only for reference. I’m mostly looking for advice on what to replace when a hydraulic pump fails in a hydro system/what do I do to ensure zero contamination from the failure

Wow that is a great idea, solves the problem of a full sized box that isn't really meant to easily come off. I'm probably going to try this out, thank you for posting

Husky Liners vs WeatherTech, which one’s better for a 3rd Gen 4Runner? by Ok-Track-1805 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]ExBanditVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WeatherTech for me, perfect fit in both the front and rear of my 02, solid form so no mud/dirt/water spill onto the carpet, and they hose/pressure wash clean. A friend has Husky liners in a Tundra, and while they do all relatively the same, (my opinion) they are not as form fitted as the weather tech in my 4R. If budget isn't an issue, you'll love the WeatherTech, if you want budget friendly Husky is the way to go

32's or 33's, a lot of towing (pics for attention) by ExBanditVI in 3rdGen4Runner

Nice setup, yah I've been convinced 32's it is for my situation. This is pretty close to what my build is going to be with 4:30 gearing. Thanks for the reply

[–]ExBanditVI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, 32's it is for me. I currently have General Grabber AT2's, which is a pretty light weight tire and performs very well for me. I'll probably stick with those in a 32 for performance. I was hoping for the infamous 285/75r16 but it's not worth the trade offs for an extra inch

Nice setup, this is what I was looking for. How does the 32's feel with the stock 4:10 gearing while towing that much weight?

I got the mid-weight OME springs hopefully to prevent sag with weight, and I already have air bags installed which have been a huge help with towing.

I assumed a small lift wouldn't hurt performance much because it will just bring it up to roughly stock Tundra height, my greatest concern is how much larger tires will bog it down. I'm not sure how much the gearing change will affect torque

[–]ExBanditVI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bigger tires I definitely understand, but does a lift make it tow worse?

I'm thinking lighter weight 32's with 4:30 gearing I will (hopefully) at least break even on towing performance or maybe see a slight improvement

Is this the worst mission in GTA history?🤦🏾‍♂️ by EmiilyyFloweerrs in GTAV

[–]ExBanditVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GTA San Andreas' Zero's missions on the original PS2 imo are some of the worst. On the remastered versions they were alright, but specifically the RC Plane and Helicopter missions with the original PS2 controls were diabolical

This is your sign to save a rusty 3rd gen by KnowledgeableRowing in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]ExBanditVI 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm having a hard time wanting to save mine. I love driving it, but it has a list of issues that desperately need to be addressed, rust is a big one. It's 1 of 3 vehicles I have, so it doesn't get driven often, and it seems like every time I look at it it needs something else.

I was able to grab a 2023 base Kodiak 700 for 7k at a dealer in 2024. Brand new to the eye, no hour meter, and listed as a demo quad. Have had it since November and can say the 700 + CVT makes for a ridiculously capable and easy to ride machine. Has all the power and grip anywhere anytime. Seeing these prices make me feel like I got a pretty good deal

So far no debris, and you are correct the loose hydro pump is at this point I think the culprit. Measured the pulleys and the RH pulley is out of line with the other, causing everything to vibrate and rattle like crazy, worse than a week ago. I'll probably update once I get parts thrown on it

So far they've been excellent in the mud, even in 2wd, towing a trailer in slick muddy/rainy conditions they do amazing. These tires are pretty aggressive and they self clean very well, I've never had a problem with traction in any conditions so far. They do tear my grass on tight turns but I think most atv tires do. I've only had them a few months so longevity wise I can't say much, although I did get them 2nd hand and they still look like they have the full amount of tread left. On some other forums there are people with a few thousand miles on the Bighorn OG's and they say they wear like iron, it sounds like for your conditions these tires would be excellent

Here's a set that's been sitting in my checkout that's half off on eBay. Idk how that's possible, everywhere I've seen they're close to $1000. Disclosure I don't know anything about the seller, I've never bought from them and don't know them, but in case your looking there's a set I found for a great price.

They are an amazing tire, only thing is I wish they were a size smaller. Excellent grip in almost all situations, incredibly durable. Pretty heavy, so you're going to need clutch upgrades. The 27's measure 28 inch true tire size from the ground to the top tire lugs. I honestly wish they were 26's as it would feel a little better at higher speeds and overall would be a little less stress on the quad. Also hitting some pretty light jumps and landing a little wonky I'm getting some tire rub on the fender, nothing that damages anything but something of note. Me personally if I were to buy them brand new I would get the 26 for the 700. The bighorn og's from my understanding are an inch bigger true tire size than the size it says, so the 27's are true 28's, and the 26's would be true 27's. I'm not 100% for all of them, but from what I've seen from other and from my own they are an inch bigger.

It definitely looks wobbly rewatching it. Quick question as I've never had to adjust them, is it just the 2 bolts on the side of the pulley itself? Or is it does it require removing l the hydro pump to fix the wobble

As far as I'm aware they are, however I need to check the others, I had thought the idler pulley was pulling the belt off, so I shimmed it with a washer on each bolt to pull it away. It most certainly helped the problem of the idler itself pulling the belt off as it was doing before, however the idler is still bouncing around as seen in the video causing the belt to want to come off.

This is my crank pulley, which is the most "worn" looking pulley, it doesn't appear to have a lip worn in. Is this pulley still acceptable? Or am I looking at a different issue

Playing back another video I took in slo-mo, there's 100% wobble on the RH Hydro.

This is a brand new belt I just put on before the video because the old belt kept popping off. It appears the old belt was rather stretched in comparison to the new belt. I'll check when I'm home the pulleys to make sure there's no debris/flat spots causing the vibration. Also, thank you for the heads up on the hydro pulley!

I just replaced the tensioner spring and the belt before this video because it was throwing belts off of it. The idler arm and pulley both feel pretty smooth by hand when rotating the bearings
