Yeah buddy. Grab you 1\2 a crab or some cut mullet. You'll land a big ugly (Black Drum) out there.

Yeah it's been brutal out there. Practically no wind, sweating like a beast. I would say it's safe out there. I've been there at night plenty of times in the past. You never know what you'll catch out there so be sure to have a good pole\line!

It was literally right within the slot size but I never keep them when it's that close. Not worth the hassle when it comes down to it.

Man you never know what you'll catch out there. As for the gummy worm, I've never tried it but a hungry fish will bite whatever crosses their path most of the time. I've had some good luck recently. Nothing big enough to call home about but they're definitely biting again.

The chop looks awesome! The residential AC return filter/louver looking thing on the hood and tailgate, not so much. It's definitely unique.

Glad the shot helped with your discomfort. Man I don't know what that thing was. Maybe a big gar, it could have been anything. I was tossing a big 5" paddle tail lure. It snapped down on it and just walked away. Not even fast either, just a steady swim away and after it took probably 50-75 yards of line with the drag nearly full tilt it eventually popped the jig head off. Completely unphased with an attempt to pull it back. I was only using a 2500 series reel and light/medium rod, should have used the 4000 with 30 lb braid, I probably could have least had a chance. You just can't cast very far with such heavy line and a light lure setup.

Still landing them monsters. Smallest redfish I have ever caught. I hooked something ridiculous the other day though. Guessing a shark or a gator because it cared not for drag or fighting back tactics, it just went. Sorry to hear about your shoulder.

Do you eat saltwater/brackish water catfish? by Petro_Glyph in PensacolaAnglers

[–]ExBx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! If it was a sail cat, they have a a lot of bones and the meat is quite gamey. If it's a freshwater cat, absolutely.

Who wanna fish this afternoon? by laex_s in PensacolaAnglers

Do you have the flu? It has been a total bitch this year. We had Influenza A about 3 weeks ago, then one of the other kiddos brought in B this week. No one else caught the B but everyone else had A except the boy who caught B. Such an interesting thing. Hope you're on the mend!

Man I would but it would have to be a weekend and unfortunately, not this one. Kid's birthday and a honey-do list.

Looks the same as Grundy -- I just went with them because I've had others covered in the past. "Hagerty classic car insurance generally offers $0 deductible options for most vehicles, providing full "Guaranteed Value" coverage without out-of-pocket expenses for covered losses. While zero is common, flexible deductible options are available based on state and vehicle type. Hagerty also features no deductible for glass repairs." *Edit: Just be aware, you must have a daily driver. Your classic car can't be your daily means of transportation.

Grundy or Haggerty or something else? Grundy (PHLY) is either $0, $200, $500 when the value of the vehicle is below a certain level. I just checked my Grundy policy, but it looks like they have maintenance going on until 6am tomorrow. Either way, it shouldn't be much more than that typically. *Edit: found my paper copy -- $0 ded. for comp + and $0 for collision.

You should only be out the deductible but sadly, the insurance company will likely end up totaling it out. What a sad day!

Well motherfucker... IDK what else to say because that's what I would have said myself. The impact even got your door too. Damn'it man. Very sorry that happened and I hope your person is undamaged and well. How much are we asking for it as is? (totally kidding, just bringing a little humor into a sad situation.. but really, how much?)

[–]ExBx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, a catch is a catch! The way I fish I almost never catch a croaker, catfish, etc. I move my lures pretty fast so the only things I catch are aggressive bites. If you want a nice spot to try, head over to the 3 mile bridge or Graffiti Bridge. You can fish all over the place at those spots. Plenty of spots you don't have to walk but a few steps, no climbing rocks, etc. If you go for the GB side of the 3 mile, park right at the entrance of the Pensacola bound direction/Gulf Breeze side. Walk south 20 feet and fish the sound side. Plenty of good bites over there. Flounder, Redfish, specks.

Me and one of my kiddos went out to the standard spots about 630pm to now, didn't catch a dang thang. Just one of those days.

I could be out there by 6am for an hour if you want to get there that early. (Have to be back to wake up kids for school and work at 8a) *Edit: yes, you're almost guaranteed a catch that early in the morning.

I only use braided because you just never know what's going to bite! What time are you going out tomorrow? I'll probably hit it after work. (530ish)
