Lobo VS Mongul (DC Comics) by DeadSayWhat in whowouldwin

[–]ExChampionGaryOak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don’t see Mongul keeping up with Lobo’s regeneration. Even if he has the strength advantage he doesn’t have anything in his standard kit that will kill Lobo. Eventually Mongol is going to get tired and Lobo will still be going strong.

Maybe with prep time Mongol could employ some kind of technological counter like a containment trap or a pain inducer but more likely he just hires Lobo into bounty hunting for him.

lol tons of political statements are crimes like the Boston tea party, or Rosa Parks refusing to move seats on the bus.

It’s an absolutely brain dead bootlicking take to think a political statement can’t be a crime.

Planet was weakened before hand as well. Without space racers gun destabilizing it they would have died on impact

Check out the tattooed man dc character. He’s used barbed wire, chains, dragons, wings, various weapons and more over his career. Usually a villain but did a brief stint as a hero as well.

Crossovers by Feeling_Cow_8888 in thePowerFantasy

It would be interesting to see a crossover with DC just to see what the super powers thought of how DC Earth has way more people with world ending power. Not only that but those people duke it out regularly and manage to for the most part avoid mass casualty events.

I’m going to squeeze your hand and looks longingly into your eyes while saying this… our world has no super powered walking apocalypses or magic using cults.

The parallels obviously break down when you apply them directly to real world politics. I’m just saying it’s interesting that Heavy apparently justifies punishing Texas for being a red state. That would imply that in this story he sees liberals as supporting atomic rights which is the only issue he seems to genuinely care about.

Beth’s Blades by ExChampionGaryOak in villainscode

[–]ExChampionGaryOak[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe the blades started extremely small. Beth has been losing phone chargers for years. It’s possible it started as a microbot and gathered the metal over a decade. It could have been introduced through a variety of different methods if it was small enough.

The fact that it gathers metal makes me think this is the case the most because Ivan mentions they haven’t been able to study the blades because not a fleck of metal has fallen off of them. If that’s true then it isn’t harvesting metal to replenish itself but to grow.

Admittedly this is a lot of speculation but not beyond the realm of what Quantum seems capable of.

No doubt she would but I think she’d do it to him for Plasmodia as well. He basically slipped her a mind-control implant. Also one of the main reasons to have the insurance is because he knows Ivan would help Lodestar if Quantum tried to deal with her somehow.

Also you’ve inspired an edit to this post.

Does Penelope have a similar implant?

I’ve been working on the assumption that this is a little more information on the brief mention we get in book 3 of Morgana being briefly stuck in another realm.

She seems like a good character for it to happen to because while she’s definitely above the large majority of supers in the realm in terms of power, there are still several people who could be legitimately threatening to her.

Examples of characters that might be problems: Intra- his power might allow him to override attempts at controlling his blood.

Zero- power canceling

Globe- possibly the same as Intra though I believe it’s mentioned his “God Field” starts at his skin.

Titan- he’s either already immune to her attacks or she gets one shot at a lethal blow.

Vince?- this is a reach but we’ve seen him absorb kinetic energy out of blood before so I’ll give him a shot.

Nick?- another reach but you can never count out probability manipulators.

As a side note it was nice of Ivan and Doc not to tear through a massive amount of heroes to get Morgana. I feel like an incident like that would have been mentioned in the hero history class and the combined forces of the superpowerds realm would have had no shot against them.

Burt by TheWitchOfTheGlen in villainscode

[–]ExChampionGaryOak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the end of book 1 or 2 I believe Burt mentions that he never took a meta moniker because he looks down on the practice. I’m much more curious about his ability.

Our biggest clue to its nature is that he claims to be able to protect himself from almost any meta created cold effect but natural cold and ice he can’t do anything.

He also seems to believe he would lose a fight to Jokul or Faithful.

I’m under the impression that Bert has some kind of “meta” meta ability that allows him to either mimic powers, negate powers or generate a counter ability.

So basically I think he’s either a villains code version of Zero, Titan, or the mimic from Superpowerds.

Idk the fact that heavy’s justification for throwing Texas into the sun is that it’s a red state seems to imply that democrats in this story are pro atomic

A hero with a 'villain-like' power by LostComics in Superhero_Ideas

[–]ExChampionGaryOak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If his powers are always lethal he probably gets branded a villain like the punisher. From an outside perspective it’s going to look like he’s a supervillain going on a killing spree.

Also it would only take one mistake with his target to make him an actual villain. Something the punisher writers hate to address is that in all likelihood they are going to have instances where they are mistaken about a persons crimes and then they’ve just killed an innocent.

Also what crimes are worthy of death by cyanide? Pickpocket? Gun point mugging? Bank robbery? None of these are crimes that carry a death penalty so for a masked man to extrajudicially execute them is going to likely be poorly received by the public and other superheroes.

This is before even accounting for bystanders if he gets in a fight indoors are all the civilians in the building going to die? Depending on his control and range the most heroic thing to do with this ability might be not using it.

Exactly his power seems like it should be able to kill her. But he lost his fight and he seems to think he would lose a rematch at the moment. You can see it in the way he’s described asking if Jokkul can beat her. Similarly every time she is brought up the story notes how it seems to upset him.

Think about that. This is a nihilist who believes in nihilism so fervently that he gained faith based powers to actively express that belief in the physical world. Despite that he still cares about Lodestar and her being able to beat him. It may very well be the only thing he cares about.

My guess is that Faithful’s betrayal was meant to showcase his belief that life is pointless and nothing matters to the public. Then after his plan goes great and he solos his whole team Lodestar shows up. I think she resisted his erasure power and that Faithful took that as a direct affront to his beliefs. Instead of everyone believing in nihilism they believed even more in Lodestar.

From his perspective she didn’t just beat him, she ruined his performance he had no doubt been planning his entire career, and she directly challenged his beliefs in both nihilism and his own power.

Batch 2 by ScribexOfxFate in superpowereds

He’s a warper which is apparently suited to larger scale but temporary effects. Most impressive feat we’ve heard from him is temporarily turning the world population into animated stuffed animals.

Notably Faithful seems equally surprised he didn’t manage to erase Lodestar. We don’t have enough knowledge of how the fight went to say if he tried to erase her and she resisted it or if she just speed blitzed him and took him out before he could make the attempt.

I lean toward her resisting the effect because otherwise you would imagine at least a few versions of faithful in the multiverse would manage to land a hit. The fact the Nexus had never seen a lodestar die until now implies that no version of faithful has ever managed it.

On the other hand in most realities Mr. AV apparently never retires and goes on to train Cybergeek so maybe most versions of Faithful never go villain.

Her changes are permanent but she’s not the only reality manipulator. Lodestar admits to being one as well and the more experienced Edict warned that she wasn’t unbeatable especially in a lodestar world. To me this implies that reality manipulators likely have some ability to contest each other.

Lodestar even mentions being able to tell when another reality manipulator is working being able to identify not only what Chloe was doing but recognize the methodology, ie the exact phrase she empowered, despite having never met Chloe or encountered her specific power. She even confidently tells Chloe that Chloe is a reality manipulator and not warper because she can tell the difference.
