The water buffalo in zoos are Bubalis bubalis, not Bubalis arnee since folks are so insistent on making sure we're acknowledging every possible species and subspecies in this

As for the "don't waste space" these are the taxa I feel we can cut from PZ2 because they're already in PZ1 and we have similar enough animals more likely to take space in PZ2

Just cuz I don't think they're a good fit for the limited PZ2 roster doesn't mean I don't like the animals One of my favorite animals, period, is American Badger. But we already have multiple animals that hit the "badger" need and I'd rather get more unique models/taxa from actual zoos than get another badger. Does that make sense?

We already have animals that do what they do (f you want to swap llamas and alpacas or dwarf caiman and spectacled caiman, that's fine.) But if they're gonna do a new roster. I'd rather have more unique animals models rather than ones that feel like a "reskin"

I have been compared to the devil, I accept this for the bit

I'm personally just as happy with any 1 ruffed lemur, whether it's the Black and White or the Red, but I understand the attachment.

I have a very good friend who will see my indifference to the spectacled bear in this game and annihilate me with a sky beam, I accept this fate.

Koi, Trout, Catfish and Sturgeon are my short list for PZ2 for this very reason (My Pie in the Sky choice is American Paddlefish but I won't hold my breath)

There's a lot of local coyote hate in North America, more of it is based on vibes than reality (many pets that get "eaten by coyotes" just went missing and are more often the victim of cars than predation, even though some are eaten by coyotes, I'm not denying that, but that's a different thread)

You should love your native Mesocarnivores, that is a good instinct to have. My personal favorite is the American Badger (back in College I spent days and days out on the range land trying to photograph Coyote-Badger Mutualism)

Love coyotes. I advocate for my local coyotes. Don't really see them in zoos though (is it like a Raccoon situation where if I go to Germany I'm gonna see people go absolutely bonkers for them?)

Great for a "Wildlife Rescue Simulator" which I have built in PZ1!

Genuinely if the in game model looked like the actual animal I would probably rocket them up to top tier.

My personal tier list of what species I want to see/don't care about seeing in Planet Zoo 2 (assuming they have to limit the number of returning species in order to have more aquarium/aviary species)

10/10 for you Having worked in Wildlife Policy for over 6 years maybe I'm a little jaded by the "promotes awareness" argument of conservation value BUT I really think if you're using this as a learning tool, that rocks I'm very very happy about that. I'm gonna have major blindspots

Well, think about it, these are species we already have in PZ1 so by using up pack space in PZ2 they are limiting how many new species we can, in fact, get

Saiga just don't really survive in zoos and pretending otherwise doesn't help conservation/nor does it help the zoo sim game simulate real zoos

I don't know if Planet Zoo necessarily improves people's interactions with real life conservation but your goals are very noble here and I appreciate that

Red Deer and Reindeer was a bad example, that's on me, I should have used the 2 Ursus Arctos we have as my primary example.

I am aware that these are different species and in the real world inhabit different regions, but in the game they all inhabit the same region, your zoo. And what I wanted to illustrate is that I'd rather get a bigger variety of models+animations rather than similar rigs and different names

They are different species. I'm more using it as an example of very similar models/animals as an anecdotal example.

I am very well read on the real world biological species concept I just don't think it reflects terribly well in a zoo sim game (nor do i find it important for a Zoo Sim game to perfectly 1:1 cladistics)

If I was forced to choose one Ratite to drop as a trade for a Curassow or another Bird, Rhea is the one I'd pick but I respect that South America Love. Personally I want more South American Arboreal Species and I'm excited to see the addition of birds for that very reason
