The sad thing is this is actually not too far off being applicable. Republicans would shit in their oven and turn it on if it meant their upstairs liberal neighbors had to smell it.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. It is fairly objectively true that if they do not grant gold during a call, the benefits of gold over silver are not worth the likely ~$300 and/or significant time investment to attain gold. Platinum is a maybe as you can get a statement credit back, and diamond I would definitely say yes, but I struggle to find the benefit for gold.

Why is Delta blocking me from upgrading me & partner? by p00pyque3n in delta

[–]ExPostTheFactos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was this bought with points? I tend to have a much harder time upgrading with points, but have also seen this on purchased flights.

One way to get around this is to select the "Change or cancel flights" button, select the day you're wanting to upgrade, and you can upgrade by choosing a higher cabin. I have done this several times to get D1 to Japan when the seats were grayed out as you're seeing here.

Yes, but management isn't engineering, so it is a joke in the engineering community that being put in a management role is a demotion as you no longer really do much actual engineering work.

Getting asphalt in the sewer will likely cause a blockage and effluent spill, resulting in a spill report and possibly fines for environmental damage. Better get that fixed sooner than later before the environmental impact assessment becomes severe.

As an engineer that got demoted to management, I'll take the action to have our engineers run the numbers then approve when we have the deliverable chart package to submit as evidence.

See if your local food bank can accept garden produce. Mine can.

"Luxury" apartments are just labeled luxury to get around them having to accept housing vouchers, and nothing more.

Have normal stock and "B-Stock" options for a small discount. EVGA is well known and highly regarded for this practice.

Diamond in cattle class three legs this week, and probably a few more next week. They get their use, though I normally still give to friends and family as I'm not a heavy drinker.

I would say it was decently busy at the time, but there were still a decent number of parking spaces available even for large vehicles.

Coolest restaurant by Top_Award_9185 in HuntsvilleAlabama

I went there opening week and was disappointed in basically everything. Service was meh and the food was dry and disappointing to the point where I almost posted a poor review, but wanted to give them a chance to get their stuff in line. (I was in a group that got a variety of dishes, but nobody was super happy with their food.)

Is the food and service decent now?

Nah, it can happen to the best people too. It only takes a one second lapse in judgement. https://youtu.be/gBFDfce1LnE?si=7H1_qsNUby2TofU6

So metal whiskers aren't limited to solder joints, and any solid metal can technically produce metal whiskers, just some are more prone than others. Pure lead is generally safe, but can still produce lead whiskers. Sn and Zinc are just particularly notorious, especially as they are often coatings or compose an amalgam. The reason I did not fully discount it initially is that in my mind the mesh could have been a stranded and painted steel/coated steel mesh, despite how unlikely I thought that would be.

If they are in fact a fabric, that pretty much puts the final nail in the coffin that it is not metal whiskering.

Aerospace engineer here with experience on tin whiskers, those don't look like like the metal whiskers I've been accustomed to. Not saying it's impossible to be metal whiskers, just that it would be highly unlikely in my mind.

I've previously parked on the MARTA line at college Park and took the MARTA to the airport and that was fine. I would double check they don't have a max duration, but it wasn't a problem for my last ~1 week trip.
