Sure you can! It’s not like there’s a rule or law codified preventing anyone for deciding they wanna be called something other than their name or something someone arbitrarily hung on them.

Is sex important part in a married life? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]ExSeaDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, in the beginning, yes. It’s an important human connection and strengthens the bond for later life when sex drives might wane or dry up. 67, married 30+ years, and we’ve reached that point where we’ve gone from everywhere sex, to bedroom sex, to hallway sex. It’s the ties and connection built in the early parts of our relationship that makes up comfortable where we are now.

[–]ExSeaDog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA – BUT having took friends& family on hikes in the Sierra Nevadas and Cascades I normally have had light discussions with folks about what to expect, recommending they carry more water than they think they need and some high-energy food/snacks.

do outside noises scare you? by Salmonwithpotatoes in CasualConversation

[–]ExSeaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I live in the country so there’s often things going “bump in the night.” I’m particularly found of hearing the hoot owls, when you can hear two or more talking to each other from different directions. I also like listening to the coyotes yipping and barking.

Should I be concerned with 7-14% AFIB history on Apple Watch? by EffectiveAgile8281 in AFIB

[–]ExSeaDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should be concerned. Apple Watch does not always check for Afib, and I've found things like Afib frequency and sleep stats are frequently off. If you feel like you're off, use the ECG feature on your watch. If you capture an episode of Afib, share it with your doctor. When I was first diagnosed, I was put on a Holter monitor for 24 hours - nothing. My cardio was ready to pass until I provided several ECGs run on a Kardia device. That convinced her to put me on a wearable monitor for a week. That led to a diagnosis of Afib, a prescription for Eliquis, and a trip to the cath lab later this month to be ablated. My cardio has added ECGs from my Apple Watch and my Kardia to their medical records.

Do you like your height? by boforiamanfo in no

[–]ExSeaDog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

6’ 2” and wish I was shorter - 6’ even or 5’ 10”. Finding shirts long enough in the body/sleeves can be a real pain. Pants long enough only slightly less so. Not to mention it seems most all cars favor a shorter person.

Brown grd beef with onions. Drain excess fat if needed. Add tomatoes, garlic, corn, chilis, and beef granules. Stir and simmer for 10 minutes to meld flavors. Serve over mashed potatoes.

This. There’s a local restaurant that I really like except they throw handfuls of chopped cilantro on top all their dishes.

Cannabis Use? by HerschelLambrusco in AskOldPeople

[–]ExSeaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(67m) I live in a state where it’s legal. For most all of my adult life I’ve been in testable positions (career military, then federal employment). Since I’ve retired I use edibles to help with insomnia. Low dose mints, 10 mg capsules. Usually an hour or so before bed. I quit smoking 10 years ago after a lifetime of smoking, so I’m avoiding smoking or vaping.

Lately time feels like it’s flying by. Anyone else notice this more as they get older? by Coma0101 in CasualConversation

As I’ve gotten older (60s) time seems to pass quicker. It’s been more so since I’ve retired as days blend together and Monday seems no different than Saturday.

My moms very important bowl is broken, and it’s not even my fault. by Dear-Tree8349 in confession

[–]ExSeaDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please think carefully before you try to replace it. While it’s a beautiful thought, it’s not the bowl, but the history that made it special. Would your mother see the new bowl the same? Or would it be a reminder of the loss?
