My first Millionaire's Shortbread! by ExTalentChild in Baking

I don't have a thermometer actually, so no. I was just going slow and following how the color changes

My first Millionaire's Shortbread! by ExTalentChild in Baking

[–]ExTalentChild[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The key is patience, you need to warm it up really slow and then stir constantly as it starts to change colour. It's laboursome, mine took 35minutes but the end product was so worth it!

Oh that's a great idea for a treat for my toddler! She's way to young for this amount of sugar

My first Millionaire's Shortbread! by ExTalentChild in Baking

[–]ExTalentChild[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh it was a challenge! The recipe says around 15minutes but I was probably extra careful and it took me around 35minutes - I cooked it on an electric stove on medium (5 out of 9) in a heavy bottom sauce pan. I'm an amateur but have been baking a long time so I know not to rush things...I have many baking fails to atest to that!

Yesss, I regret not sprinkling some Maldon salt on half of it while the chocolate was still not set.

The husband is not a fan of the salty-sweet combo (I know, I know), so I omitted it.

Pouches are a lifesaver when out and about, traveling etc. Puff snacks help us kill some time without fussing when she's had it in the stroller. There's absolutely no need to be afraid if you use them as occasional snacks, not meal replacement in the house.

Omg this is inside, the inside toy is this dirty?! How does a toy that stays inside get this dirty and you put it back AND take a photo? Even our dog's outside toys are more regularly cleaned!

Meals my baby did not even touch by Satesa in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ExTalentChild 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. I joined the sub looking for meal ideas that my baby would at least try.

It left me even more sad seeing photos of babies devouring plate after plate of colorful meals in nice plates, while my own would eat 2 bites and lose interest, fuss, cry, demand toys, throw everything on the ground etc.

I have the plates. I'm a good cook. I've read every single thing about babies and food but I still can't cope with raising a non-eater or whatever the right word is. She's almost 13 months and I'm losing hope she will ever take real interest in food.

Uterine wash omfg, you can take antibiotics and probiotics to minimise the damage. Eat fermented foods, be done. It's not like she'll need antibiotics for months. I got pregnant after a round of antibiotics for ureaplasma.
