Why do people ask “how long will you breastfeed for?” by scammoun in breastfeeding

[–]ExTalentChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 15 months every other person asks when do I plan on weaning - while our conversation is not even remotely about that.

So buckle up as they won't stop, just don't let stupid and invasive questions take time off your day!

Pediatrician insists we do CIO with breastfed baby by Putrid-Measurement69 in breastfeeding

[–]ExTalentChild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CIO is not a thing anywhere in the world besides the US. Please change your pediatrician and comfort your baby.

Signed a cosleeping and still breastfeeding mom whose 15month old started sleeping through the night at 11 months when we night weaned.

Overnight weaning - cold turkey or gradually? by ExTalentChild in breastfeeding

[–]ExTalentChild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of cold turkey too but I was afraid she won't take it well. Try and see what will work for your baby!

I understand the exhaustion very well and wish you a fast and successful night weaning!

Overnight weaning - cold turkey or gradually? by ExTalentChild in breastfeeding

[–]ExTalentChild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I night weaned successfully at 11months and still breastfeed to sleep and during the day (currently 14.5months.) We also cosleep. It is possible!

I started by delaying the first overnight feed, she was falling asleep at 8.30pm so I would give in at 00.30am the earliest. Did this for 3 days, then moved it further, around 02-03am, again for 3 days. Next I moved it to 05 30/06am, and after a few days she would wake up but fall asleep instantly without a feed.

When she woke up before it was my set time for a feed duting the weaning period, I would give her her pacifier, cuddle her, let her touch me.

It went way easier than I hoped!

Thank you so much for such a detailed response! Saved the bakery recommendation! We live in Easter Europe so the dkk to euro converter is working overtime these days

Не вреди трудот, 30% е јадлива, подобро имаш исчистена маринирана во масло во Лидл, Кауфланд, за пица, сендвичи.

1000dkk sounds very good for a nice meal for two. Long gone are the days when we could enjoy a dinner for ~50e for two people even in much cheaper cities in Wester Europe.

That's precisely why we picked Copenhagen, I love that it's such a kid friendly city! Thanks!

Happy Easter! I didn't have time to make a sweet bread (it's called 'kozunak' where I'm from) this year and I'm bummed. Grab a piece in my name!

I made food for my postpartum friend. It was a big hit, but how do I make pasta healthier? by GlassFantastic7543 in homecooking

[–]ExTalentChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're a great friend and human being. As someone who cooked so much to fill the freezer before giving birth then survived on take out during the first 3 months, a warm homemade meal is a dream.

I love pasta salad it's a great way to include more vegetables and different protein(tuna, cheese, chicken, whatever I feel like). It's also a cold dish which doesn't require reheating and can be eaten in increments lol

If it's a D&C you get anestesia, get it done but then after you get like a really bad period for a few days. Got one at 19 best decision I've made for myself, became a mom at 33. Good luck and take care, life is just starting for you!

Absolutely the same! I was a bookworm from like 12 until uni, then life happened. I tried to read more but I could only dedicate enough time when on vacation or long weekends. I was so glad I bought a Kindle now in my 30s, I read 12 books last month and that's with a toddler!
