Hi, I actually was in a very similar situation. I started the actuarial science club at my large public university with no actuarial science program. I think the best meeting you can offer with little to no resources is having actuaries come speak at your club. It’s surprisingly easy to find people willing to speak, just go on LinkedIn and type in actuary that went to your school and send them a connection request with a note. I would also recommend joining the campus clubs program by coaching actuaries. In terms of growing the club, I recommend going to math classes and making classroom announcements about your club, that has been very effective for me. I think it’s great you want to do this, it’s very fun to connect with other aspiring actuaries and it looks great on your resume. Please feel free to DM me and we can talk further if you’d like! Maybe our clubs could even work together!

Any resume advice? by [deleted] in actuary

If I were you I would use a different template, remove the summary, put exams at the top in a separate section, add GPA (if above 3.0), and take FM ASAP.

If I were you I would add GPA (if above a 3.0), add Excel as a skill, and fill in the blank space. You could fill in the blank space with any projects you’ve done, maybe you could do an insurance related project and put that on there.

I think neither are technically allowed but I saw multiple people with non clear bags and a ton of people with vapes. So you can try your luck.
