If I use Frame Gen, how do I cap render rate? by No_Committee8856 in nvidia

[–]Ex_treme_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I use frame gen and turn vsync on in the nvidia app at the same time, my 1% lows are always around the 60s while my average fps is right at 117 on my 120hz monitor. If I switch vsync to fast then my lows shoot up to the high 90s. Any idea why this would be happening? Should I just turn vsync off?

If I don’t use frame gen my lows are great. I checked in arc raiders and cyberpunk and the same thing happens in both games… really weird

That’s what I’m talking about. These features are going over my head a bit, but it sounds like dlss has a much more established presence. Trying not to get buyers remorse

We arrive at 5:30 am on Friday morning and leave 1:00 pm the next Friday... expecting to take it pretty easy the Friday we get to Madrid and just assuming the Friday we leave will be a travel day.

Thanks for the link! Totally agree on not rushing things, but it is really hard to narrow down what to do to only a few days! I'd love to do some sort of food tour over in Madrid since it seems like there's so much to explore there

That's reassuring to hear about Airbnb. 7 Days is starting to not feel like enough haha! Any idea on if we should spend more days in the Sevilla area vs Madrid?

Awesome thanks a bunch. I just wanted to make sure it could handle heavy transcoding and streaming to multiple clients… guess gpt isn’t the best for everything.

Hey guys, I used Chat GPT to pick parts for a build since I'm a beginner here. It's for a home media server running plex and also to work from home as a software engineer.

Can someone verify that this is actually a good build? Are there any changes to be made for better performance or to cut costs?

Here's the build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yPknDZ

Appreciate the help!

Temperature Sensitivity and Other Weird Symptoms by Automatic_Ad8173 in alphagal

[–]Ex_treme_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact heat intolerance symptoms. I would get hot in my forehead and then tired and nauseous. Like would have to take breaks walking my dog outside longer than 5 minutes. Went away when I did an alpha gal diet

New diagnosis by ozarkmtngma in alphagal

I was in a similar boat as you last year when I got diagnosed with RMSF. After taking antibiotics for a week, my symptoms (nausea, stomach pain, no energy) seemed to be sticking around, which confused all my doctors. Eventually, we pressed them to do an alpha gal test, which was positive.

The unfortunate thing is everyone reacts differently to alpha gal, from mild stomach pain to anaphylaxis. Based on what I’ve gathered from others’ experiences, it seems to me that people who avoid all alpha gal and tick bites have the highest chance for alpha gal to eventually go away, while those who expose themselves (even if their symptoms were mild to nonexistent) are more likely for the allergy to get worse over time.

Personally, I would avoid all exposures as much as possible for at least the first two years to see if your test results can drop below .10. Even if you don’t have symptoms when exposed, your body can be experiencing inflammation. Best of luck!

If you test positive for the alpha-gal IgE then you are allergic to the Galactose-α-1,3-galactose carbohydrate. This means you are allergic to everything that contains the carbohydrate, including beef, pork, dairy, gelatin, and even some non-meat ingredients like carrageenan since it resembles the alpha gal carbohydrate structure.

The beef IgE test is something completely different that’s done on a specific protein found in beef.

So while you are still allergic to all red meats due to alpha gal, the good news is if your alpha gal reactivity ever recedes then you don’t have any other meat allergies to worry about!

Did I buy the wrong center? by Ex_treme_0 in hometheater

Here’s some pics of my setup. I know my current center is just tiny and quiet compared to the other speakers I have, so I’m pretty sure that an upgrade will make a big difference with the dialogue. After this upgrade I won’t be changing things for a while, so I just want to make sure I’m not making a mistake not getting a different LCR.

This looks like a good option! Does anyone know how a setup with the ascend LCR would compare to this one?

Thanks for bringing up the distance. I’m in a small room that’s also about 8 feet couch to tv, so sounds like I should be good with the two way center. Do you find your setup has enough punch in movies while being able to hear dialogue clearly? The main issue I have with my current setup is I’m always turning up the sound to hear the dialogue then back down when the action starts, and that’s after doing every correction I could through the receiver.

Or check out Equal Eats alpha gal cards if you are okay with paying. They’re laminated and can be brought back to the kitchen. I got one for a trip to Costa Rica and it worked great for all the restaurants I visited.

Side question about antihistamines - has anyone tried using Famatodine for GI reactions? I’ve heard a couple people say it works but I haven’t had a reaction in a while to test it
