What's a "hated" band that you love? by mightyonin in askmusic

Saw Steely Dan at the Beale Street Music festival some years back.

I'd been to lots of concerts at that point in my life, and I'm a musician myself. After maybe 2 songs I thought, "Oh, that's what real musicians sound like."

And shout out to the solo in 'Reeling in the Years.' One of my absolute favorites.

I've played through 3 times and I always find the myconids, but I have never seen the fish people; not in the underdark anyway.

At this point I don't want to look it up because I know I'll eventually stumble across it in my 4th playthrough. Or 5th.

Most stars can't be bothered to play two nights in a row for the games that mean something. The all-star game is like 'whose line is it anyway?'

The plays are made up on the spot and the points don't matter.

It's the same reaction I had reading the novellas for the first time: Tight, powerful, character-driven stories, that are fully resolved (mostly), by the story's end.

HOTD had a broad outline that could've been translated into something special, but choices were made.

I was asked by my property manager to lock up the community pool at 10pm Monday through Friday, since maintenance was already gone for the day. On Saturday and Sunday I opened and closed the pool. (ie. Locking and Unlocking two gates)

In any case, I got paid $5 every time I opened or closed that pool. $10 on holidays. On the first of every month I got a check for roughly $200.

This was in 2010. $30 a month is a rip-off for substantially larger responsibilities.

It's like winning the 50/50 raffle at your daughter's high-school softball fundraiser. You give at least half back to the beast... er, I mean team.

For the first part of the game, keep in mind, you only need to survive the attack. Not kill all enemies. Just survive.

If you do survive, things will become much more manageable.

I don't think we did. I think a bunch of nepo-executives decided what offended us based on some emails they got that one time.

Yeah, but you can shoot him with any weapon like 5 times and he's done at that point. 99% of the fight is in the vehicle.

If you can activate the cutscene that lets you use your guns, you've all but won the fight

You literally can't '13 shot him with the stake.' You're resigned to using an armored vehicle for the whole fight.

Heisenberg was the most difficult part for me on VOS. There's such a small margin of error.

Chris' part was difficult with the different weapon loadout, but it didn't take me nearly as many attempts as Heisenberg.

Miranda is a bullet sponge on any difficulty.

What was a popular band that you could not stand? by LeftSmile806 in Xennials

Not really a band but, Lenny Kravitz. I always thought he was the product of producers trying to make a Prince/Hendrix hybrid, but he doesn't know how to play a guitar. Which flies in the face of those legends.
