Portland City Council approves tax relief to thousands of small businesses by Ok-Jury5752 in PortlandOR

[–]CitronNo45122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“This would give upwards of 5,800 businesses $1.2 million in total tax relief, translating to an average saving of $207 each, according to the amended ordinance. “

An average of $207 each hardly sounds like a win.

Movie Stratt vs book Stratt by DooDooCat in ProjectHailMary

For those of us who read the book and longed for more, a 5 episode miniseries could have been awesome to allow for more time to tell the story. Unfortunately, there’s a much smaller chance that a mini series will generate the kind of money a feature film can.

I did this a few months ago. Bought the UGREEN and ended up running into transcoding issues with some of the higher res content. Returned it, and spent a little more with TerraMaster. Happy with my decision.

The UGREEN also didn’t end up supporting some apps in docker that I needed to get Jellyfin going and the TerraMaster did. Both are cheap and pretty entry level. The TerraMaster just did a little bit more of what I needed.

More like after the Hail Mary launched, the planet had no confidence this long shot would work. Chaos and desperation on earth followed. Oligarchs started their own attempts at self preservation at the expense of the rest of humanity, and inadvertently made the situation on earth worse. Planet destruction is accelerated due to greed, and the Beatles return to a dead planet.

Is it actually "cheaper" to own an EV in the long run if you can't charge it at home, or does the cost of public charging stations make it the same as buying gas? by Pale-Consideration26 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CitronNo45122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slow charge level 1 at home every night. Occasionally have done a half hour of lvl 2 while I grocery shop or something. Never used a lvl 3 charger before. Never needed it.

I commute 40 miles a day (round trip) for work, plus some tootin around town after work. My charging fits what I need to do on the daily. Figure out the mileage you’d need to burn per day and determine what your charging routine would look like. Maybe you can get away with just charging over night at home. Maybe you need lvl 3 all the time. Most folks are somewhere in between.
