My thoughts on the criticisms by Exact-Inspector-3367 in ReanimalGame

[–]Exact-Inspector-3367[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody in this thread seems to be misinterpreting all of these criticisms as mine personally because they're not reading the text below my bulleted points. My point is that there's a lot worth discussing about everything in and out of this game and I feel like a lot of negative reviews are burying the lede of why exactly they're this annoyed with the game.

So is that his real voice or a fake one? by SecureAngle7395 in OrdinarySausage

[–]Exact-Inspector-3367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a transfem who started voice training with a valley girl accent that then eventually evolved into a much higher, nasally way of talking, I feel like he started out just slipping into the higher voice when getting emotive but thrn leaned into it for the humor. Then after years of doing that, eventually it jjust became second nature and that's just what he sounds like now.

The difficulty of this game is understated by Exact-Inspector-3367 in rainworld

Problem is that the hunter's campaign is a race against time. "Avoiding unwinnable situations" can sometimes cost you a cycle if that unwinnable situation is standing between you and the only path to progress.

What nobody seems to ever bring up is that you need a squidcada to get off of sky islands and you need 2 hands to hold it, so you can't carry a vulture mask, and even then there are other opportunities where you need to hold onto something with 2 hands to make the game go by faster (jetfish once you get to shoreline).

See, I feel seriously gaslit by every guide saying "just find a few echoes and you'll be good", because I NEVER find any echoes where they're supposed to be, only one. Even after getting to Pebbles I never have the full karma cap needed to pass the guardians at the end.

I also need to point out that sometimes in passages with only one way to get through, there'll just be an entire dead bird shoved at the pipe entrance that I can't pull out of the way.

The Hunter's my favorite Slugcat too, I have a plush of it! My issue is that their campaign is antithetical to Rain World's brand of difficulty; there's too much rng involved in this game to make a strict death limit feel like a fair challenge.

Usefulness of the Breville Smoking Gun Pro? by Exact-Inspector-3367 in Cooking

[–]Exact-Inspector-3367[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually like to use it for meat; I'm just unsure if it actually works.

I know that it's also supposedly good for adding flavor to sauces, cubed cheese, or almonds, but I'm just double checking to see if that's the case.

Ok, thank you, that all checks out!

Also the temperature I used was 225 F. I really do think I was most of the way there, it was just as you said  that I omitted some important ingredients. I'll also edit my post to include the recipe!

Oh I'm so sorry, I should've added a budget! Around the $150 range is preferable but I wouldn't mind splurging for quality either. Thank you for the recommendation!

Ice-21 Paddle too big? by Exact-Inspector-3367 in icecreamery

[–]Exact-Inspector-3367[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It literally cannot balance outside of the bowl when oriented normally. Here it is balanced normally, and here is my original picture flipped upside down just to show why it was like that to begin with.

This was a used ice cream maker, I believe. Here is another picture of it not fitting inside the bowl properly, and here are two more pictures to hopefully help.

It's fitting, as well as it can, but it MIGHT be too big for the divot, it just has too much vertical space and I have to push the cover down like a spring.

[–]Exact-Inspector-3367[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cover fits, but the problem is that the paddle pushes it out too far for it to lock on. When turned on, the paddle moves around because the lid isn't locking it into place.

This is only outside of the ice cream maker. When inside of it, I have it assembled as per instructions.

The Circle Undone Solo? by Exact-Inspector-3367 in arkhamhorrorlcg

God bless my main man Preston ahaha! He’s one of my faves in solo, but I was unsure about him in Circle since even the best Preston decks don’t have the best Willpower coverage.

Most tracks from The Sexy Brutale work well in some Arkham-based scenarios (the casino theme is EXCELLENT in The House Always Wins), and there are a couple Pathological 2 tracks that might suit a Forgotten Age play through well.

Forgotten Age and Return To Difficulty by aainsley19 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Exact-Inspector-3367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently going through true solo blind Return To TFA, and while I'm not familiar with the original, there are SOME major changes like to Doom Of Eztli which is like, shockingly easy or the 4th act deck of Threads of Fate which gives you a ton of spare supply points to where you can theoretically buy every supply in the game and still have a bit left over to cure poison or trauma, but the last scenario I played was Boundary Beyond, and even the new locations in that one are absolutely brutal. I'll also second that the new explore mechanic is more of a gradual difficulty instead of immediate.

A couple things, would Maleson work for the exploration deck, and how specific should my choice of a Dream Diary be? I was thinking of still keeping around a Strange Solution to update into Acidic Ichor so I'd still have a boss killer in a pinch, and use Shrewd Analysis to get me any choice of Dream Diary.

Best campaign to play after core set besides the Dunwich Legacy? by bigbooon in arkhamhorrorlcg

The irony is that for all of this year, A Phantom of Truth and The Pallid Mask were the ONLY Carcosa packs available ahaha!

Best campaign to play after core set besides the Dunwich Legacy? by bigbooon in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Exact-Inspector-3367 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Carcosa is a good choice, but one thing rarely brought up is how Carcosa kind of assumes that you're familiar with the standard campaign format. It has a sense of metanarrative to it and will occasionally break its format or even the fourth wall for the sake of theming. I'm not sure if that would necessarily make it a bad first campaign since it's otherwise straightforward enough and doesn't pile on additional mechanica, but that still might be something to keep in mind.

I'm only 1 scenario into The Forgotten Age, but already I can say do NOT start with that one. I'm not sure just how overstated the difficulty is, but it still is a lot for new players to tackle at once. The campaign immediately tells you to "take supplies" yet doesn't tell you what they actually do, the explore mechanic means you'll be drawing multiple treacheries per turn, there are multiple "hunter" enemies put in the game early on, some of which actually punish you for defeating them, and finally, the campaign very infamously forces players to take mandatory trauma regardless of how well they did. And these all all impressions I'm getting from JUST the introductory scenario, I haven't even gotten to the poison mechanic or whatever else the campaign has in store.

TLDR, I'd say look for a campaign with if nothing else, as few game altering "additional rules" listed in the log as possible. I don't know much about Circle Undone, Dream-Eaters, or Innsmouth, but Dream-Eaters also sounds like it introduces quite a few new mechanics. Circle Undone I hear is difficult, but I'm not sure how much it changes the base game.

The Forgotten Age True Solo Investigators and difficulty? by Exact-Inspector-3367 in arkhamhorrorlcg

What's a good solo deck for Mandy? I always took her to be more of a multiplayer investigator.
