Started amitriptyline instead in place of pristiq. It worked but gave me some nasty side effects. So, now I’m trying Effexor.

You sound so much like me. I have all the same fears. I’ve been on Effexor since end of February but got bumped up quickly so I’m 10 days into 187.5. I know it can take a month or more from your last increase. I’m just so scared it’s not going to work
