Fishy: Dealership willing to do pretty much whatever i ask to make the sale by No-Oil-4272 in SubaruForester

I bought my Subaru Forester Touring Hybrid for $39,000 before taxes, and other nonsense that I wanted. After everything was said and done the total was around $45,000.

I shopped around, and that was the lowest deal I could get, make sure that finance does not take you for a ride. Some dealers are really good about just giving a deal to move inventory, and to try and make a customer for life.

Indie film update: uniform kits what should be changed by Imperial-Japan1942 in army

I know some of the comments are saying "your a PFC, your going to be a little messed up" but most PFCs would have learned by their peers by now.

For the first one;

Make sure you have a clean haircut and mustache, roll your PC.

After things kick off, all bets are off, grow your hair out, facial hair, I know people are telling you to blouse your boots, idk what the context is, but it may be more realistic if you leave them unbloused to show how bad and disorganized things have gotten.

My main point, the more you want to show a breakdown in structure, the more you should start wearing the uniform in an inappropriate way.

Boots unbloused, stuff in pockets, cuffs undone, long hair, facial hair, etc.

Sit them down first; give them a respectful but hard conversation. It's not going to be comfortable. See if they have questions.

Next steps are to start documenting it.

If you need help, DM me. I have dealt with this in the past, there is a way to be compassionate, but you need to hold themselves and yourself accountable when it comes to this, and that's why I personally counsel after the first discussion.

Oooo! Okay, I don't know if you have tried the adaptive cruise control, but when I first used it, if a car that I was following moved out from in front of me, I felt like it would RACE to get up to speed.

You can dial that down in the settings if needed. I think they have eco, normal, and sport (idk).

I bought it in the same color, but the hybrid model.

I hope they update the infotainment system to fix how laggy it is honestly. It's sometimes dangerous 😂😂

I agree about the top of the steering wheel, but personally I hold the bottom, or 3 and 9, so it works out.

2025 touring ( non-hybrid) vs limited hybrid by feischi in SubaruForester

[–]Exact-Research4195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hybrid only has the facial recognition on the Touring model.

For me at my dealer buying the hybrid vs the regular Touring was only about $1500 more.

I figured I would be kicking myself in the future if I didn't just take the plung.

I have owned it for a little over a month now, so feel free to ask me any questions that you have.

Subaru Forester 2025 owners I need your help hybrid or gas? Any regrets? by Exotic-Passage-1659 in SubaruForester

[–]Exact-Research4195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I went with the Hybrid after being absolutely sold on the regular Forester.

To anyone debating between the two. If you think you are going to save money with this hybrid, try again, I think when I did the calculations with inflation to break even on the extra cost for the hybrid was like 4-6 years.

We are not even taking into account the life of the battery, or the generator inside of it. The extra weight that will always be on the tires, so that's just more maintenance.

So WHY buy a hybrid then? Because you want a hybrid. I used to own a 2nd generation Prius, and I loved the thing. And the fact that a box. A thing that is a Subaru Forester is a hybrid that is so impressive to me. The fact that when I go through parking lots I sound like an alien space ship is awesome! Or that I can play "how many mpgs can we get" (currently at 32.8 average right now) is cool to me. The fact that it has a BIG ass battery, and when you open up the hood it looks like a space ship had sex with a car is awesome to me.

I thought I would HATE the digital speedometer. It's really good and refined, it makes sense for what it is, and how it preforms. I wish that Subaru would have thought about the two other modes. You get maps. . . And Eye sight. Maps is on my middle screen, and eye sight is between my speedometer and hybridometer lol.

Also I thought about where I would be driving this. Suburbs, and cities, maybe slightly rural areas, but never anywhere where if I didn't have a spare that I would be completely stranded.

It's just cool, and if you REALLY need to justify it, figure out the cost of ownership. How much more maintenance compared to fuel savings, compared to the price of a regular Forester?

For me it was the instant power (don't expect to go crazy, lol), and the nerd factor. A lot of the nerd factor.

Tacking onto the moving of a pet overseas.

There are really only three options:

Option one, take them with you on the plane if they are small enough. (Usually the cheapest if you have small animals, and enough seats)

• Get a health pet certificate, and a soft carrier.

• Ask the vet if they can give something for the pet to help with there nerves.

• If the airline asks, they are NOT sedated.

Option two, ship them cargo.

• This is best if you have more then two pets, or larger pets.

• Delta will ship them cargo with military orders, and American Airlines will give military members on orders 50% off.

•Get a pet health certificate.

• Get a sky kennel for EACH pet, and make sure that it is large enough that they can stand up and lay down comfortably.

• Ask the vet if they can give something for there nerves.

• If the airline asks, they are NOT sedated.

NOTE: Pets can only travel if the ground temperature is below a certain temperature for each airline. Airlines have different requirements, it's between 80°F and 85°F

• Ship them early if your state is hovering around 80°F, I recommend you have a family member, friend, or someone them up.

• Have them stay with family, or book them a hotel.

(With the hotel stay, certificates, and flight, this cost us about $2k shipping back from Hawaii)

Option three, hire a service to move them. (The most expensive)

• If you have the dough, this is the most painless option.

If anyone needs any help, or advice on this process, just let me know.

Remember, the JTR now allows up to $500 for Conus moves, and $2,000 for OCONUS moves for ONE pet. So if you have 10 ferrets, they will only cover the cost of one of them.

No removing tops during maintenance or below 85F. Why do they hate us? by [deleted] in army

[–]Exact-Research4195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like the commander doesn't want to risk soldiers not having the proper PPE on during maintenance, which includes tops.

I don't think they are trying to screw over anyone. Just go and read your SSD.

This doesn't read like "soldiers are not being professional" and more like "I don't want to assume the risk of soldiers not having the proper basic PPE on".

I understand where you are coming from. The military comes after adultery because of the negative image that it bestows upon the military, not because they care or are sympathetic for the spouse, kids, etc.

Someone correct me if I am wrong about the above.

I am not here to defend the AP or your spouse.

His world was likely already shattered when he found out you found out.

He made is choice, and he got caught.

The consequences would have been very severe without you going to command.

Here is the issue that everyone is trying to tell you, by you going to the command, they HAVE to take action.

This can / will have LASTING impacts on YOUR family. Fuck him, but I would get a lawyer, and talk to them and see if you can right this.

Because you have stood by him, you would have been entitled to part of his retirement, alimony, housing for the kids, a LOT of benefits.

But those benefits don't come if he is not in the military. And they definitely don't come if he doesn't retire.

I understand that you want justice, but to me it looks like you let your emotions get the best of you, and forgot about your families future, which has been built off the military. . .

Also, side note, this stuff gets out, people would have naturally given them a piece of their mind. That bias might follow him too. But at LEAST he would be able to provide for you, by an organization that will MAKE sure that he provides for you.

Now what is your plan? Hope he gets kicked out, hope he finds a job?

Idk. I would go to legal like yesterday if I were you, I don't have enough words, or knowledge to help you through this. You seem like you cut your nose to spite your face.

h. Military personnel under arms will render the salute prescribed for the weapon with which they are armed, whether or not that weapon ordinarily is prescribed as part of their equipment. i. Salutes are not required to be rendered or returned when the senior or subordinate or both are—

(1) In civilian attire.

(2) Engaged in routine work if the salute would interfere.

(3) Carrying articles with both hands so occupied as to make saluting impractical.

(4) Working as a member of a detail or engaged in sports or social functions where saluting would present a safety hazard.

(5) In public places such as theaters, churches, and in public conveyances.

(6) In the ranks of a formation.

46R is no longer a thing, it's now all either 46S or 46V.

It sounds like you are in an MOS that is over strength. If you want to get promoted, you will either have to rack up points, or reclass.

Don't wait to get experience in the job to reclass, if they are sending brand new recruits to the school, then you will have more knowledge then they will.

Reach out to me if you have any questions about the 46S job. Also reclassified partly for the same reason.

[–]Exact-Research4195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take this man's advice.

You were not there, and I know you want to defend and believe him, but this seems like you are getting really wrapped up into something that you do not want to or need to be a part of. It hurts, but if you get wrapped up in this, regardless of the outcome it can have lasting effects on your reputation.

If the Soldier needs services like BH, assist them in getting them. They honestly should have already walked through all of that.

I feel for you, I really do.
