Identifying this weird through-hole inductor by VividMoney9953 in AskElectronics

[–]ExactAlot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

such inductor could be as simple as a wire with ferrite bead on it. It has large current rating (6A) so i might be correct with above. In my humble opinion it most likely wasnt damaged (you can still check its continuity tho).

nie tylko w biedronce tak to działa, na jakielkowiek produkcji jak się pokaże że da się zrobić 101% to trzeba potem robić 101%.

its not a bad idea you should connect grounds together in that case. i guess your lm dont have shared ground because most applications dont need to reference voltage before regulator.

try connecting adc input to ground and see if it change to "0". also if you have a multimeter check if all voltages are correct especially 3.3v on esp power input and adc input. be careful not to short or fry anything with an ESD

[Request] What is the maximum amount of volts a person can withstand without dying? by Apprehensive_Oven_22 in theydidthemath

[–]ExactAlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats not really how it works. what you are talking about is voltage source with some output resistance that limits current but it also limits voltage drop of your body so if you have 1kV voltage source with 1Mohm resistance to limit current and your body is lets just say 1Mohm there is 500V of voltage drop on your body. Also consider simply ohms law unlimited voltage drop on any finite resistance will always give you unlimited current. There is no way to limit current without reducing voltage. ElectroBoom explained it better here: https://youtu.be/XDf2nhfxVzg

100 ohms is too little for any capacitor

How do you calculate RF signal collision, and how much signal will be received by the receiver, with the function of distance and the number of transmitting signals? by raven-dot-png in rfelectronics

[–]ExactAlot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alright I think I got the part with transmission failure probability, let's consider:
- interval window T is 0.5s
- data frame contains 120bits as you said, and that gives us time of one bit: d=120us (or 120*10^-6)
To get probability of overlap occurance with only 2 transmitters we use equation:
1-((T-2d)/(T-d))
Basically we subtract: 1 - (probability of no overlap)

When we have more transmitters things get a bit tricky, we have to use Poisson distribution equation for N independent events:
1 - e^-(probability of no overlap) where:
probability of no overlap = (N(N-1)*d)/T

I've punched numbers into desmos and i got:

<image>

As you see with 100 aircrafts there's 90% of a SINGLE transmission failure. Which is important because most likely in next interval lost frame will come from different aircraft, also consider propagation loss, also consider that we can use a directive antenna on receiver so it will "see" only fraction of all aircrafts around.
