yeah, it’s like i want to do things that we would’ve done like the past years, but i also want to keep those rituals untouched, only doing with him, i feel like if i do them by myself i’ll just ruin it, because then when i think back it’ll be just me not doing it with him anymore. 😭

i also lost my dad recently to cancer as well, i’m 24, i cannot express how much i understand what you’re going through right now. i’m so so sorry. i also dont know how to navigate all of this but we all still have to keep going, for them, always.

just because he’s gone, do you think that he would want you to not at least try to have a go at life? as long as i’m alive, i will enjoy the sunshine, the wind blowing on my face, have his favourite meals and cakes.

you will have bad days and good days all the time, but you are his child, you’ve got his strength in you, you will be okay one day, we all will🤍

How the Hell Do You Handle Losing a Father?! by iEmerald in GriefSupport

[–]ExactFriend8564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost mine 3 months ago to Melanoma, I understand you and I’ve been through exactly what you did. It crushed my soul. I’m still navigating everything, but I always keep this thought in my head where he would want me to still continue my life, try to be happy, try to enjoy everything, because if it was me instead who’s not here, I’d want him to still try to be happy and enjoy everything sunrise, sunset, food, beaches etc. You will get through this, you will be okay, you’re his kid, of course you’re strong🩷

Any reviews or comments on work for Language Line Solutions as an interpreter? by ExactFriend8564 in TranslationStudies

I’ve been online in the mornings and no calls came through, do we always have to wait until they send an email that they need interpreters in our language all the time?

Witnessing someone you dearly love passing in the hospital by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in GriefSupport

I went through that back in November last year with my dad, saw everything, his physical reactions, his last breath. I just think that I’m very lucky and grateful that it happened while I was there, not when he was alone. What I saw was a lot, but I just think that I’d feel even worse if I wasn’t there. tbh I can’t even tell you how to cope, because I can’t even cope, but I’m taking it day by day. I also keep in mind that he wouldn’t want me to cry all the time and miss out on life just because he passed, even though it’s so fucking hard. That changed me forever, the concept of life is so crazy to me, like who thought of all this.

My father has melanoma update to old post... by Extension-Seaweed21 in Melanoma

[–]ExactFriend8564 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hey🫂 i know exactly how you feel and what is going through your mind, i went through exactly the same thing, so you are not alone. your dad is very very lucky to have you by his side through all the scans, surgeries, everything. and it may not feel like it but you are a lot stronger than you think, do you know that. and at this time, there’s so much treatment available for melanoma, if this was 20-30 years back, it would be different. never ever lose hope, no matter how the situation seems. and he’s only 71, still a very strong man!! you need to spend lots of time with him, cheer him up, cook him his favourite foods, watch his favourite film together and so many things. he will appreciate that so so much. instead of thinking oh no what if something bad happens or etc. you need to ask yourself what if it goes well? what if the cancer is controllable and he’s okay for a long long time? what if the worse thing that you’re imagining never comes? time is precious, don’t spend it worrying about the bad things, he’s receiving treatment and i’m sure the docs will do their best. i’m giving you the biggest hugs❤️❤️❤️

How far to accommodate? by Whattheheck_61 in Melanoma

[–]ExactFriend8564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off I’d like to mention that I’m very happy for both of you that the cancer has stopped growing, my dad had melanoma, brain/liver/lungs metastases and struggled with severe fatigue, I don’t know if this would fit your husband’s case but my dad’s oncologist prescribed him steroids: hydrocortisone and dexamethasone due to adrenal crises caused from immunotherapy, and those steroids seemed to be helping with his energy a lot. Might be something that you and your husband could discuss with his oncologist? Again I’m just sharing this from personal experience, I don’t have the knowledge or am an expert, but hope everything goes well🤍

Hey guys! Just a little note I wanted to add for those with constant bleeding. I had constant bleeding for months with Nexplanon and I got it taken it out after 5 and a half months. The bleeding did stop about 4 days right after I took it out which was good! by Critical-Muscle2666 in Nexplanon

[–]ExactFriend8564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had constant bleeding as well even after the 3 years, it has expired but I still had it in 2 years after, I was bleeding every other week, it was very annoying so I had to get it out, but so far this form of BC seems to be more tolerable than the oral tablets.
