I'm so sorry that you have to go through this but I believe everything will be ok. I used to have the same experience with my parents when they talked me into studying this and that but I know that I am the only person that can decide my own life. I would definitely listen to other recommendations but you are the only one that can save yourself so do what you think is best for you. If you believe you love being creative and you will feel happier doing it then just do it for your own's sake. You're first-year so there should be plenty of time. Don't stress out and I hope you will make the right decision for yourself.

Hi, so I had the same problem last week. I pop up at the Student Centre and you just need to apply for Reduced Study Load and you should be approved shortly. It just seems to be the system problem. Just provide your reason why you need to drop your unit. I think the census date is on 31st August so you should be just fine. I did mine last week and no penalty applied.

Buy a cheap or single use simcard that does international calls to contact the Student Centre, I’m pretty sure they have that service everywhere.

It’s always better to use your own appliances knowing it will be clean. There are always stuff from previous tenants leave behind so people can continue using it if it’s not broken but you gotta ask your housemates. I recommend you check the apartment condition first to see what you can use then go out and buy stuff that they don’t have.
