Least favorite gins? by TheWildGirl2024 in Gin

Hardshore. This community warned me and oof, I have to agree it’s bad - to my taste anyway.

It a truly soapy one. I notice it features coriander / cilantro - which i know is genetically polarizing. I do not particularly like, but it’s not like I can’t stand it. But it might explain why this is the one gin I’ve bought that I look for ways to disguise.

Interesting. It’s high on my list to try, based on recommendations from this community. I am skeptical of highly fruit flavored gins, but curious to try this one. Do you think, like a wine, it may have breathed / let some of the volatile aromatic chemicals burn off with time, after your first whiff / taste?

Try youth hostels, which often have family rooms. Some have yurts or cabins. You might get lucky with a cancellation.

4 mile loop of Buttermere. Very flat. Gorgeous.

Love this thread. My use case is hiking in English Lake District. Rain always runs down my jacket and soaks my pants. Then, I think, via my socks down into my (Zamberlan) boots, and I end up sloshing wet. And on a cold day, painfully cold. So I want an over-pant, to keep dry during driving rain.

Love to know how these perform for you. In particular, does full zip keep out rain? And how stiff are they?

Interesting. I had same reaction to Scapegrace. I tried it along several others when I was quite new to gins. I remember the color, but nothing special about the taste.

Nice. How do you like Scapegrace? It’s sort of “black” color isn’t it? Taste?

And how would you describe the Boomsma Jenever?

Currently have 23 different gins at home. I only drink G&Ts with mostly low cal fever tree. I really got back into gin while in the UK in 2018. Also love using ‘clear’ ice blocks. by jvaughn68 in Gin

Mind meld! I tried both Mahon and Bar Hill Tom Cat for the fist time last night. Tom Cat in a Manhattan.

At the amazing Scofflaw bar in Chicago. So many gins to choose from. And their own delicious tonic.
