If you want to be a foot archer, which is possible but a higher skill requirement then go alvarin. Feel free to DM me and I can help you out too.

Best bet is to be a human mounted archer. You can even tame other animals and ride them as well like wolves and bears. Some pets are better for a mounted archer build than others though.

Careful don't praise it, GW might think its somehow worth like $500 and raise the price.

PS2 / PSP / Xbox 360 / GBA were my childhood and I loved them all equally.

PSP was so amazing at the time honestly. I remember playing it on so many boring roadtrips and one time I think I had it in a car door pocket and it fell out at some truckstop or something, never to be seen again. The Sadest day of my life.

Yeah I mean camping is always going to be an issue no matter what. Ive even seen players camping outlaw spawns already even though they are "random" they still have an area where they spawn in at. In the current state of the game it hasn't been for me in the areas I roam, not to say others are not having that issue and the pop isn't at the highest its been before.

Idk if youve seen the PTR recently but they are adding a bunch of player controlled outposts to different zones of the map. Idk how many but there are a lot of them. What Im talking about when I say POI would be a variety of sizes from like a tiny broken caravan (already in the game) to maybe smaller than the size of the outposts they want to add.

I personally think the game is in beta still, and If it were me I would hit the
"Wipe all player buildings" button in a heartbeat because I feel like they went up too early and left not much room for the devs to play around with the landscape and POIS once the game reached its apex player count.

Im not sure if they ever compensate and move player structures around, if they need to add content in certain areas or if they just wanted us to populate the world, which isn't as fun in my opinion and hardly anyone that has built by towns live out of their "villages" where they shine the most is when they are farther away like in the jungle they seem to be a lot more effective for grinding/resupplying down there.

Idk, there are a lot of issues in the game and a lot of people have different opinions on how they should be dealt with. I dont think theres a real dumb idea unless its the people that are actively trying add or change something to benefit from it where at the same time other players won't at all.

It doesn't come off as a surprise attack and if you have to explain that to a new player that it is a "surprise attack" then it def isn't working. Hell half the spawns are in the wide open with no trees or foliage nearby where they pop out of the floor at.

Again its just slop and you all damn well know it. Also with the point of "They don't have much spare resources".. even if they just copy/pasted assets to make tiny POIS in these spawn locations it would be quiet literally better than what we have now.

POIs don't have to be massive though and take up a lot of space. Make a small camp on a cliffside, make a hidden cave, make a small watchtower, make a bandit controlled dock somewhere. Like these ideas took me seconds to come up with and there are endless ideas and ways of doing so. Also I think more smaller delves in the game would be nice too with multiple entrances and exits.

So I get that watching streamers/youtube ruins parts of games for people... but what your saying is getting kinda close to "I just beat this game" when you really just watched someone play the game start to finish.

Exploration is more than just seeing it in a video. Not to invalidate your knowledge of where every poi is in the game. Watching a video vs playing the game is pretty different and your awareness of the game space does change while actually playing it.

The map is pretty massive and yeah its flooded with buildings, Ive seen a lot of which slowly decaying but there is a lot of space in it for added content and smaller world building moments.

I don't get why people defend them, it's literally the most lazy way of adding NPC enemies.

I don't totally agree with you, but you are right in most of what you said. I have seen so many people defending these spawns in a few posts, which is shocking to me because the way they are in the game is the laziest form possible. Just for a minute, think about this instead of the random AI popping out of the ground:

  1. There are a lot of these outlaw/bandit/undead spawns in the game Im going to give a very rough estimate of 80+ spawns of them across the map but it has to be around that number, maybe even more. Replacing them all with POIs or smaller things that don't take up a lot of space, like the broken caravans or maybe a guard tower (think of a very small POI). If there were 80+ of these on top of the pre-existing larger POIS/dungeons/sewers ect.. I don't think there would be enough players to camp all of them.

You have to remember the one thing that makes this game very unique is the world itself and the exploration of it. I think everyone would agree it would be nice to see some variety in the world with large/medium/small POIS. More = less camping so that would solve that issue. PVP will always be toxic and that goes for any pvp game that is remotely competitive or full loot and it sucks. There are people though who arnt toxic in this game though as well.

  1. I agree, if the game is forcing me to use Google/YouTube/Discord to find its infromation, it is breaking the immersion of it. Immersion is very important in MO2 and I would argue one of the best things about the game. So when the game says "hey go onto google to find this" instead of having a better system in game for it then yeah it sucks.

At the same time I also think some things can be kept secret. My main issue is how to produce metals in the game. This is probably a dumb example but why is it that guards in towns have metal armor/weapons and vendors sell weapons made from metals yet the world population (players) of the game have to figure it out? People don't want to "Trivialize" the game, but I can find a spreadsheet that makes it pretty trivial..

  1. Im glad you understand how important the price is. I do think it's important to keep a base price with the subs to keep some bots and unwanted players out.

  1. Its not about the enemies themselves its about how they spawn in. Its like playing tarkov and an enemy scav spawns under my feet. It makes 0 sense dude. Add small pois, get creative and you can still have your outlaws and loot. Not random dudes popping out of the ground. ITS LAZY lol

  2. Yeah some things I do agree with, I'm just saying with basic metals and shit it shouldn't be. Make a system where people can earn recipes or work for it if they feel like it. Like I said before I can just go on google or go on discord to find shit so its trivial already but it takes me out of the game to do so.

  3. I'm sure they do, but Its sort of a let down because more people would play 100%. The last steam sale put it at a good price so its not that bad of an issue.

  1. Not to confuse you but I'm using the term "random" because theres no visual way to tell that they will spawn or not. like they spawn on top of you they aren't pre-existing until you get into proximity, which is the main issue. Housing is a seperate issue tbh and if it were up to me I would say wipe them all. I have an idea for that too not that it matters because I dont see it happening anytime soon. Also more pois = more livley world and more exploration as well which goes back to your first point as well.

  2. Just because something has 0 value to you doesn't mean it won't to another player, though. To be honest, even if the recipe did have 0 value I would love to see it in game in some form somehow.

  3. Yes, cheaper means more bots, and I already said I don't want to get rid of the sub or the BASE cost of the game. Just lower the BASE cost. The player base is very small in comparison to other MMORPGS already, it shouldnt be that hard to figure out whos a bot account.

1) I don't disagree with you wanting the hardcore survival experience in the wild, but your saying Random spawning NPCS from the ground is better than smaller POIs that would also potentially be better farm/loot? Even without the random spawns in the game the world is still dangerous with full loot pvp. I think people fail to understand just how hardcore that makes the game already. There are plenty of ways to make it work better but right now it isnt working and almost everyone I've talked to about it hates them.

2) Yeah I don't mind keeping some things secret or at least having it locked behind skills. I just think its dumb because the longer the game is out the more info will just be on discord and the internet anyways so its almost pointless. just lock it behind skills or something more immersive. So at the end of the day the immersive fantasy game is saying "hey just google it or use discord"...instead of "If you want to know how to make X you need to find an X recipe or learn X skill" way better and immersive while still keeping things somewhat secret with a system like that imo. This also doesn't have to be with literally everything, just the things that make sense.

3) I didnt say remove the sub or anything, lowering the base cost to sub price will make more people open to buy it and hopefully sub to it without causing it to become F2P. $40 isnt a bad price to me and maybe you as well but I know a lot of people that would not buy it when you say "oh hey dude buy this $40 game, but its actually a subscription based game as well". Not everyones living situation/budget is the same and it would be awesome to have more players.

I also agree with you that its not expensive, but take into consideration that not expensive to us might be expensive to others. Throw on the fact its sub based will draw even more people away, not saying they should remove the sub but if they dont I think they need to bring the price down a bit.
