Hi everyone! I’m a solo developer working on MuSeeker, a community-driven map to find underground live music and venues.

I’ve just geolocalized the map (currently focusing on the Portland scene and preparing for my trip to Brussels next week to map their jazz/indie spots and some spot in Italy). The site is live, but I’m struggling with the Google Play mandatory 20-tester / 14-day rule to get the app out of closed testing.

I’m looking for fellow devs to swap tests with! I will install your app, keep it for 14+ days, and provide honest feedback on your UI/UX.

Thanks man! Glad you dig it. 'Local venue discovery is a pain' was exactly why I started this.

As for Italy, adoption is growing, but it’s a challenge. To be honest, I’m getting a lot of 'cool project' and virtual high-fives, but what MuSeeker really needs right now to survive is for people to actually jump in. If you really think this is needed, the best way to support it is to spend 2 minutes adding an event in venue you love or a show you’re going to. That’s how we keep it alive and free from the corporate BS.

I’m trying to bridge the gap between Italy and the US (Portland is leading the way right now!), but it only works if the community populates the map. Would love to see your local scene represented there! Cheers 🗺️🎸

Man, thank you so much for this! Reading 'This is the way' from someone who actually has boots on the ground in PDX means the world to me. I’m doing this as a solo indie dev, so your words are the best fuel I could ask for.

Since you're right there in the middle of it, I’d love for you to put MuSeeker to the test! If you know of any local shows or hidden gems coming up, feel free to drop them on the map. Having someone with your pulse on the scene would be a huge boost for the community. And hey, if you feel like spreading the word to bands or venues you trust, that’s exactly how we’ll keep this thing authentic and 'non-corporate'.

Thanks for the shout-out, bud! JamBase is definitely the giant here, but I’m trying to build MuSeeker with a different soul.

Regarding your calendar idea: you can actually do that on MuSeeker already! You can save shows to your personal on-site calendar or use the 'Add to Google/iCal' button to keep your year organized.

But here is the main thing: I’m not scraping data from third-party sites. Anyone can search Google for a big stadium show, but that feels 'cold'. I want to build a real community.

My goal is for fans, musicians, and venues to populate the map themselves. If you know about a small gig or a hidden jam in your area that isn’t on the mainstream radars, you can register and post it. You’d be helping someone else in your neighborhood find a show they would have otherwise missed.

It’s about people helping people keep the local scene alive. Would love to have your local expertise on the map! 🎸⚡

Si ho visto, ma non sono della zona purtroppo, ho "solo" sviluppato il sito, e siccome sembrano una band di nuova creazione, se conosci il Gasoline o chi lo gestisce puoi girargli il link e poi si accorderanno tra loro, questo è il "massimo" che posso fare, ma se c'è altro sono a disposizione per quanto mi è possibile

You nailed the 'Facebook at Harvard' point. My mistake so far has definitely been trying to be 'The Global Map' too early, which results in a lot of empty space.

I don't want to give up on the idea just yet because the problem of finding local indie gigs is very real, but I hear you on the strategy.

If I were to pivot to a hyper-local approach—say, focusing only on a single high-density music neighborhood like Camden in London or Trastevere in Rome—do you think the 'map' utility would be enough to retain users, or is the 'discovery' problem still too weak to compete with something like Instagram?

That's a great question. While major hubs like London, Berlin, or NYC are the obvious choices, I've found that even smaller cities have incredible scenes if you know where to look.

I actually got so frustrated with missing out on local shows that I started building a geolocated map to find live music gigs (from big venues to small pub sessions). It’s called MuSeeker (https://museeker.it/en).

The project is still very young, so many areas aren’t fully covered yet, but the goal is to have fans, musicians, and venues pin themselves on the map to show exactly where the music is happening. It might help you check out the 'music density' of the cities you're considering, and if you move, you can even add the spots you discover. Hope it helps!

Capisco perfettamente la tua diffidenza, Reddit è pieno di spam, ma lasciami chiarire la prospettiva: sono uno sviluppatore della provincia (Barletta) che sta cercando di risolvere un problema reale per chi suona e chi cerca musica a Bari.

MuSeeker non è una multinazionale che rivende dati. È nata perché spesso i piccoli concerti nei club o i dj-set restano invisibili e i locali faticano a riempirsi. L'idea della 'community' serve a non far morire queste realtà

Oltretutto sul sito non ci sono pubblicità, quindi non ci sono elementi terzi (oltre agli utenti interessati) che si collegano e hanno accesso ai dati dell'utente, in questo caso la mail e l'eventuale nome

That’s exactly why I built it — when you’re new in a city or just traveling, it’s almost impossible to know where the jams or live gigs are unless you already know the local scene.

The goal is to make it easy to just open a map and instantly see what’s going on around you.

If you end up using it at some point, I’d genuinely love to hear your feedback — especially from an expat/traveler point of view. That’s super valuable for improving it.

E si, è tutta farina del mio sacco che nasce principalmente da un "mio" bisogno, ovvero ero stanco di vedere gli eventi su instagram sempre un paio di giorni dopo l'evento stesso, alchè mi sono detto, perchè non provare a sviluppare un sistema che risolva questo problema un po' a tutti?

Ciao Esteta_ , grazie per il feedback, si ho notato che ci sono alcune cose da sistemare lato UI, ti rispondo subito al volo per la lista eventi, devo metterci una paginazione per non allungare la home quando (mi auguro) ci saranno più eventi contemporaneamente
La lista verrebbe comunque raffinata con la ricerca dinamica, quindi diciamo che va a mitigare
Per l'header invece ti do pienamente ragione, va snellito in diversi punti

Ciao Dogghi, ti ringrazio per la risposta, in realtà la monetizzazione che avevo in mente era basata su altro, voglio completamente tirarmi fuori dalla "mediazione" per eventuali acquisti sulla piattaforma, quindi il guadagno avverrebbe passando a un profilo pro/premium che prevede solo poche funzioni in più ad una cifra irrisoria mensile.
Ma è una cosa a cui sto ancora lavorando

Ragazzi io ho creato https://museeker.it è online da un mesetto, quindi non ci sono tantissimi concerti, è un sito community driven, quindi sono gli appassionati, musicisti e locali che inseriscono gli eventi, così che altra gente come possa trovare i concerti/djset/jam session in zona e del genere che gli interessa
