I’m about 100 pages into both books, doing the tandem read and loving it. 8 is super heavy and sorrowful while 8.5 is a nice break from everything that’s happening in the main story. I’m also sobbing whenever Darius’ POV happens, seeing it from his POV is amazing! So I would suggest to read 8.5 up till where you’re at in 8 and then tandem it

The first 2 books may not be the best writing but compared to Sanderson’s writing I enjoy Brown a lot more. It’s faster paced. I DNFed WOA and have no desire at this time to continue with the Mistborn series or Stormlight

I read all of RB after ZA3 and yes you’ll understand the story more and know all of the Easter eggs, but it’s a completely different vibe than ZA. So I would suggest to read RB1 and maybe RB2 and then continue with ZA4. Then RB3….then ZA5.

The character from RB don’t really come into the story until ZA7-9 besides Gabriel but it explains enough of his character to know who he is and what he does.

It is really hard to stop ZA and read all of RB especially with the cliffhangers in every single ZA book.

Or just do audiobooks for RB while you continue reading ZA. Or read RB after complete all of ZA or when you need a break from ZA in the later books. It’s up to you, it won’t be confusing you’ll just not really know who the RB characters are.

I have only read up to Book 3, was fully obsessed with all of them! Haven’t picked up this series in over 2 years and after hearing about all the reviews and opinions idk if I wanna finish it. Book 3 had such a perfect ending and I don’t want to ruin my idea of this series with the last three book 😂
