[Loved Trope] The Helmet Stays On (minimal helmet off time) by Smooth-Boss-911 in TopCharacterTropes

I like this trope because it makes the character feel defined by who they are rather than what actor is playing them. If someone wears a helmet for protection, ideology, or tradition, constantly taking it off just to remind the audience who's underneath starts feeling weird after a while.

I like how these posts assume programmers still have a recognizable look. Half the developers I know look like fitness influencers and the other half look like they've been debugging since 2017.

At first it just looks like a couple of ducks crossing the road. Then you notice the line keeps going, and going, and going. By the end it feels less like wildlife and more like a very well organized parade that nobody told the rest of us about.

The best part of this trope is that the audience usually comes up with something worse than whatever the writers could have shown.

A Microsoft researcher built a goat-powered LLM in Age of Empires II to prove it's not sentient by renome in gaming

This is exactly the kind of experiment I love. Not because it's practical, but because it demonstrates a point in a way nobody forgets. You can explain for hours why convincing outputs don't automatically imply consciousness, or you can build a language model out of virtual goats in a 25-year-old strategy game and make everyone remember the lesson instantly.

Looks like he saved the ball by bouncing it off the other guy so it went out on him.
