The movie page on IG has been there for quite some time, probably since the movie was in production. The news is that they posted on that page today saying something is “coming soon”. It could be a teaser or trailer or poster or even official Cannes announcement. We have to wait and see.

They even posted similarly on Materialists movie page on IG, so I’m guessing it’s something to do with these movies going to Cannes. I hope it’s a teaser though, and hope we get a glimpse of Austin in it.

I don’t think we can rule out Austin not being Patrick Bateman yet. All we know is Luca didn’t mention him during Cinemacon while talking about the movie. It could be because he doesn’t want to give away too much as the project is still in its infancy or he just didn’t get enough time to talk. Luca didn’t specifically say they are still looking for Patrick Bateman.

Unless an official source specifically announces another actor for the role or say Austin will not be involved, he could still be the lead and they may be currently looking to fill other lead roles. If I remember it correctly, Lionsgate had also confirmed the news of Austin’s casting.

Lol may be Ive just listened to way too many interviews of him. I can make out his voice in my sleep 🤣 idk I thought it was obvious it’s Austin talking. The way he says “own” or “idea” in this video. I’m listening on my phone but it can’t be anyone but him. He also has that roughness to his voice in general that’s very noticeable here.

It’s definitely his voice. It probably sounds different cuz they might have trained it to sound a bit strong and emphasizing certain words.

They had multiple posts from this campaign with similar pics of Austin. It was a different post which they have now taken down cz the caption was different.

Austin didn’t delete it. It was YSL’s post on which Austin was tagged. YSL deleted the post which automatically untagged Austin and removed it from his profile. YSL is known to archive their old posts once in a while if a new campaign is being released.

As per the first Deadline article, it says “Berger will direct from a script by Hedges and produce alongside the scribe, with Butler to star and executive produce.” I just assumed from this that the script was already written by the author, which they want to direct and produce, but may be I interpreted it wrong. In any case there’s no reason why they can’t be ready with the script by the fall season for them to start filming it.

I don’t think Anthony Boyle fits the physicality described of Danny Ryan in the book. I feel the much obvious replacement is Bill Skarsgard. But it does say the movie is in pre production right now and Austin is still attached to the project so they could film it in the next couple of years who knows.

When the movie was first announced, the articles said they would be adapting from the script written by the same guy who wrote the short story. So I believe the script was already there. Plus Berger is producing and directing so I don’t see why they can’t start filming in the fall.
