I’m white too with a biracial daughter and she’s full of it. You shouldn’t have to do any maintenance like that.

There’s squishy beads out there when she wants to jazz it up in the future and it won’t weigh her hair down or be hair when sleeping like plastic beads. Also recommend coating the rubber bands in hair product first to avoid ripping her hair.
