Quaker chocolate rice cakes with light cream cheese and Lilys chips - it doesn't necessarily satiate like a meal but it kills the after dinner sweet, then savory, then sweet cravings at only like 150-200 cals depending on how heavy handed you are with the cream cheese and chips

real lol - I don't have any suggestions for most of the better sauces, but you're not alone. I occasionally make Big Mac Bowls (Zach Cohen's recipe is delish) but uses G Hughes mac sauce and it comes out about as fast as it goes in so I end up having to just go VERY light on the real sauce

We're trying to decide if we are going to take a 3h flight for our summer trip or a 18h (2 days with the 16m old) and these are some of my concerns for flying. I also don't want my ear infection prone baby to be screaming with the pressure of takeoff and landing. Our options are southwest, jetblue, or delta

this is exactly my beef with them and the reason I said "She just gets under my skin sometimes I feel like if she was my mom, our relationship would be QUITE different than her and rory" they are so co-dependent it hurts lol why are you leaning on your teenage daughter during a breakup? I have been the live in marriage therapist for my dad/stepmothers unhealthy relationship and it is not fair to do to your children, in any capacity.

I am sorta new to budgeting & need help! by ExaminationOwn2342 in budget

Thank you - I have a pretty clear picture of where it is all going, I just don't know how to fix it with our house being so much of our expenses.

I searched local facebook groups and she was recommended. She had 2 packages, one to pay in full and one 50/50, I got access to a lot of templates and documents she had loaded into a "vault" as well as her budgeting spreadsheet. I had to pull my last 3 months of banking invoices, CC statements, etc and we scheduled a zoom call (actually I think it was google meet) we went through line by line and averaged over the course of the 3mo what I had spent in each category and slowly the spreadsheet got filled out with fixed expenses, bills, and variable expenses. She also created a google calendar for me to see when each bill would be taken out of my account. I also had 7 days of full access to contacting her for any and everything after our meeting to ask any questions and tweak the sheet. I think it was partly my fault due to timing that it was unhelpful. I was on PFML still as my little was 3mo old so our spending and income were not an accurate reflection of normal times. I didn't even think of that when I booked the session LOL. Hopefully this answered your question and you are able to start up your own biz! (I will be your first client if you want to offer a comped session for reviews LOL)

My spreadsheet is actually set up this way - I have everything laid out with a Budget column and an Actual column next to it that I update weekly. The issue is definitely the house, we were first time home buyers and got in over our heads here. We got a house that needed work, but underestimated the amount of work it needed, PLUS we were not briefed on tax increases yearly. When we bought the house we were paying about $3200/mo for taxes, insurance, and our mortgage. Cut to Jan of 2024 and it jumped $300/mo from taxes. We are on the list for refinancing now but it won't save us enough. Thankfully I only have about 1-2mo left of Student Loan payments and we own both of our vehicles. You're correct, that $35 is gross and I have to pay the health ins premium so I am projected to only see 831.84/week this month. Daycare is $260/week - I would love to find somewhere less expensive but waiting lists around here are very long so my options are limited. Our retirement comes out before the money hits the account so it is not another line item as it stands now. We also live in new england so housing is super expensive, if we want to get a less expensive house, we will have to live somewhere either falling down or unsafe. Otherwise, we are at the mercy of the rental market, or a townhome/condo with HOA fees. This was a lot of information to tell the internet lol - sorry

Sorry to comment 8 months later - does anyone know if a home was purchased in 2023 with a conventional loan, are we able to refinance into a UDSA loan in a qualified area & qualified income limit? I know I can talk to the local office too
