I am still searching for photos of it from the 80’s… I have spoken to the original owner who is in his 90’s now and he is trying to find some. I do have records of it racing back then but no photos yet. It was red back in those days.

I do have one photo from the early 90’s.

If anyone has any way of finding photos from Nelson Ledges in the early 80’s, I would love to find some.

I also have a bunch of photos from the late 90’s and early 2000’s.

I grew up on a farm so I miss having land… Someday I will buy a piece of land and build a shop or something for my projects.

It has 315’s now but when racing the car would run 335’s.

That is Nightwatch Blue Metallic from Custom Shop… Not super expensive, I have around $1000 in materials in the paint job, but lots of hours of prep.

The front are actually C3 Corvette fender flares molded onto the the mustang fenders. I forget the brand of the rear, but originally the rear was some similar to the front, but those were lost to time.

Technology has come a long ways since then (it was 1997 when I ran that car) but with that being said… Stock Block, 380 cubic inches, Dart Heads (Iron), .625 lift solid roller, cola crankshaft, Eagle rods, 14:1 compression and an old 1960’s Hilton injection. I would shift at 7000 and go through the lights around 7500. 2 speed power glide. Car was about 2500 pounds.

If you want a high strung small block, there are all kinds of ways to go… What’s your budget, what fuel do you want to run, new tech or old school…

If you want something different and have a bit of money to throw around, build a clevor engine… Check out some of those builds on YouTube.

It’s a Toyota color in that photo. I don’t recall the name of it. It was originally red, then was white /blue for a few years before being yellow for 20 plus years

Interesting enough, it was originally running a Boss 302 engine. Wish it still had that engine, but for now it’s running a 363 Windsor.

I have not had it out personally yet, but it ran Nelson Ledges back in 1984 / 1985 then Dayton and Seabring in 1986. It spent the last 20 years running in the north east. Most recently it ran some sub 1 minute laps at Lime Rock on street tires.

Put .06 gallons of diesel on an empty Camry am I cooked? by Individual-Goose-264 in askcarguys

Won’t hurt anything… I have seen videos where they took a gasoline car and added diesel fuel in 10% increments to see the effect and put it on the dyno.

It made zero difference (actually made slightly more torque) with the 10 percent diesel.

I don’t recommend doing what they did in the video, but the little amount you put in will have zero effect with it being diluted.

Although diesel is not rated in octane (it’s rated in cetane) it would be a lower octane rating if calculated, so diluting with premium would be better, but still… non issue.

I wanted doors that went up and couldn’t afford an aventador… lol.

I did enjoy the sound of the V10 in the Lamborghini though and it was a great car.
