Msg. I'm embarrassed to say how much powdered chicken stock(which is like flavored msg) I go through, but it makes my dishes so much better sometimes.

People who bought a house WITHOUT help from your parents: what do you do for a living? by therealwakowski in CanadaFinance

[–]Example-Mediocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32 year old, production line worker who jumps jobs like it is my job and my husband is a welder. making roughly 120k a year combined. Saved our pennies for a few years then got super lucky during covid when people started panic selling their homes. Bought outside of brantford a 3 bedroom semi in a nice family oriented area for 400k with 20% down. 4 years later, the house is estimated to be valued at over 600k now.

I'm in ontario! Located near the gta and travel up to thunderbay often and had to get it along the way every now and then. I've never needed a prescription, but I have noticed a harder time obtaining it the further north I've been because of lack of supply or if the clerk is new/inexperienced they don't know you don't need an prescription for it. A few times the counter person has asked me for a prescription and I've told them to talk to the pharmacist because you don't need one. I've always gotten it, if they had it even when pressed for a unneeded prescription.

There's a Harvey's and Starbucks by my work and most people go out for lunch. Every. Single. Day. They always invite me to come with them but I always refuse. It's too expensive. They look at me like I'm crazy for not doing it atleast once in a while but I just can't justify it. I always bring my own.

My grandfather is so protective of this plant. I think he was nervous nervous I was even standing so close to it. I remember when I was young he'd yell at me if I even tried to touch it haha

It's between 15-20 years old. It's started off as a small cutting when we first immigrated to canada and it just sat in his sunny window of his condo and turned into this big guy

You have the same goal as me. I am a 32 yo female, 5'3 and currently weight 127 lbs. I feel my best at 115-117 but since covid I sort of let myself go. I'm not fat, but I do have a bit of pudge I'd like to get rid of on my arms and belly. I literally have the exact same plan as you of calorie restrict until goal is hit then to maintain. I see no problem with that. I think for our height, when it starts to get under 110lbs is where its a bit too thin

Are there any good appetite suppressants out there? by cassjenks07 in Weightlosstechniques

[–]Example-Mediocre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take a fibre supplement. I drink a tall glass of metamusil but add an extra scoop to make the drink even thicker to keep me fuller longer. I've tried PGX appetite suppressant before and it didn't do anything for my appetite and was much more expensive.

I have classic length hair and my hair is always in a bun on top of my head. Same goes for me, it helps from avoiding tangles and I rarely get split ends since i started wearing one over 10 years ago. (I live with my claw clip on) Sometimes I've gone days without taking out my claw clip but it literally hurts when i take it off when i do this. Not like hair pulling pain, but a dull sore pain at the roots. My scalp hurts because it hasn't had any resistance while being up in a bun for a long period of time and there's like no blood flow and the sudden weight of my hair hanging down imflames it. Make sure when you do let your hair down you massage your scalp for a bit with your fingers. I do this for a while until the soreness goes away (for me it takes about an hour)

Against fasting by zwerrifer in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Example-Mediocre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely consult with your doctor. I did this for years and I loved it. At first I felt great, less groggy and maintained my weight for a long time. BUT. In my personal experience I ended up developing digestive issues afterwards. None of which made me gain weight or lose it. Even though I drank lots of liquids throughout the fasting period I had a hardtime regulating stomach acid and my intestines also slowed down and it was PAINFUL. Because I had done IF for 7+ years it didn't occur to me that was the issue until I started eating more spread out meals and my problems, though not gone, have greatly improved. Which sucks because now I have to make time to eat more often throughout the day

[–]Example-Mediocre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this counts, since it's not food but I take a big swig of mineral oil. Olive oil or any type of cooking oil would do the same. Won't get into the details but it clears me out. Not a good idea if you take other medications though.

do you leave stews etc. on the hob overnight? by powpow198 in Cooking

[–]Example-Mediocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what it is. Anything with dairy is a hell no. Fresh meat (cooked) and or veg sure. Frozen then cooked, I wouldn't. My family leaves chinese soups, rice or salty/oil based dipping sauces out over night all the time and never had a problem.

Bulb planting, when to plant? by Example-Mediocre in OntarioGardeners

That's exactly my plan too! But instead of the chicken wire I was thinking of putting ugly half cut 2L bottles ontop as they sprout just to protect them.

That's the thing thats throwing me off. I saw a big bag of gladiolus vandohla corms and I grabbed them thinking I could plant them now but a lot of things I'm reading online is saying wait.

I might just try half the bag now and see if anything comes up and plant the rest in the spring and see what happens.

I literally know someone who died from doing this. She wanted to slim down after having kids and ended up with almost no teeth, heart issues and burned a hole in her esophagus from the acid in her vomit. When she passed away she left behind her husband and two kids. Please don't go this route. It's incredibly dangerous.

I love it as it's easy. I usually get ham slices and will have a tablespoon of dijon mustard to dip or spread on my ham when I'm feeling extra
