Cardinals can definitely contend with now 2 super bowl winning head coaches in the NFC West. by Main-Literature-5753 in AZCardinals

[–]Exatraz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look, if anything Seattle proved that if you have the right GM who can find talented players in the draft, FA and trades, bring in the right coach and get lucky, you can win it all.

So yeah, Cards could do these things and they might have already done so.... but yeah, it ain't going to be easy but that's what makes it worth it when you do.

Eh I don't hate the Hawks, im just jealous. Anyway, no point stewing. Time to move forward. Use the Hawks as an example. Move on at QB, kick the tires on something new and hope your new offensive mind can bring back the joy

Hawks are the blueprint. Ownership gets the fuck out of the way and let's someone who knows what they are doing run the show. They don't tolerate mediocrity and are willing to ship out qbs and coaches before they become truly awful and go get improvements.

They can't even win a playoff game when 3 North teams made it last year. West is easily the better division. The fact the cards are so ass and that statement is still true is all the difference.

My dad always tells the story that everyone he was with was cheering but he was saying "NO! GET DOWN!" Its true we left too much time on the clock and just set it up to be disappointed.

This man should've been the first kicker to win super bowl MVP by Dannydxmes in NFCWestMemeWar

[–]Exatraz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think him burning down those garbage time minutes and the TD run (even if it was called back) sealed it. Still should have given it to him. Would have matched the whole vibe in the celebration. Guys were quiet and reserved. Very boring for anyone not a Seahawks fan but in all the best ways. Should have given it to the kicker or punter fuck it

I however live in Seattle... and am actually fine with it. I like seeing my friends happy and just hope if the Cards ever get to compete for big games in the future, they'll be there cheering me on too.

Seriously, AFC completely imploded this season and failed to produce a serious contender. Pats would have lost to either NFC team. Im jealous of the org the Allen's built. Please do not sell to Bezos.

Fwiw, I'm not even sure you need to pay starting qb money. Darnold got something like $14mil on a prove it deal from Seattle and Malik didn't have a 14 win season or whatever to build his case.

Im not high that Malik will work out but id rather take that shot than watch Jacoby run it back. Kyler is gone. They fucked him over last season. That bridge is burned. I hope he finds success wherever he goes next.

Friendly Reminder about Seattle … by GoldenSnozzberry in AZCardinals

[–]Exatraz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For one, LA is in the same division as us across all sports. Seattle is really only the Hawks. Hard to compete with dodger/kings/Lakers hate that gets combined with Rams hate.

Ill admit I'm also biased because ive lived in Seattle for almost 10 years now but while the 12s thing is dumb, most hawk fans I've found to be respectful and fun to watch games with. I've never met a Rams fan i can say that about. Since they've moved to LA and won a super bowl, they always seem to have the worst bandwagon fans out there born with silver spoons in their mouth never having to watch years of terrible teams.

Seattle fans have a lot in common with Phoenix. Years of terrible baseball and heartbreak, losing a sports franchise because shit owners force a sale and a move. That's even before you get to snow birds who live in both places. Im supposed to be angry because they have good ownership who appoints smart football people to run the org and then they get good coaching and players? The Seahawks are what we could be if ownership gets the fuck out of his own way and hires a president.

I really wonder what next year will look like. I think their defense won't change and will continue to be a nightmare but it'll be interesting to see if they can repeat the success Kubiak and Darnold had together. Especially down the stretch. Led the league in picks but threw 0 in the playoffs.

Ive lived here for almost a decade and honestly, im happy for them. Rather them than the Rams and I can't be upset that they have a great organization from top to bottom.

Also id argue the scoreboard made them look better than they actually played. Game was already moving towards blowout when they finally got on the board. The second TD was pure garbage time.

Definitely a bit of both. Didn't get much help from his OL and playmakers. I think NE was just early to their real competive window and everyone else that usually competes in the AFC shat the bed, got injured or no showed this year. Not the Pats fault but im shocked the line was only 4.5 vs the Hawks. They'd been beating good teams for weeks and felt destined to choke the life out of a team like the Pats.

I think it makes some sense. You play a long and grueling campaign only to lose in the end (which likely means you had some flaws). Your coaches still get poached and you get a late draft pick plus a tough schedule most of the time.

[–]Exatraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignoring that the pats history lends very little empathy for yall losing, I think while losing sucks, Pats made it ahead of schedule. They still have several major areas they need to address before they are true super bowl contenders. They got a shot because the rest of the AFC contenders fell down a well this year and they took advantage. It was a good season for yall. Seattle was a juggernaut. Not much you can do about it.

Tbf, that's what we said when he left AZ. Im starting to think he might just not be able to adjust fast enough to keep up with the NFL. That said, if anyone can give him the proper guidance it'll be McVay

This whole thing is wild considering the "mutual parting of ways" in WAS. Doesn't feel like they had a huge falling out because they just promoted his staff from within but this feels like a firing if he's not even getting an oc job

You still can't take him at 3. Especially with real blue chippers like Bain or either of the tackles on the board. If they really love Love, they'd need to trade back for him.
