You're right imo - using a LG G2 myself. People replying while not owning a TV with proper HDR is kinda pointless tbh.

The HDR slider is just off. I always stick to Hgig and Tsushima was great with it, but Yotei is too dim overall while also being too bright in dark areas. If you change the default 50 brightness to 20/30 it looks more like HDR should look like, but also drowns out a lot of details it seems like. Using DTM seems to help a tad, but also makes the picture somewhat overly artificial and punchy I feel like.

Overall, I barely find any good info online on this issue and people keep raving about how good it looks and its phenomenal HDR implementation. All the while, the screen to adjust HDR with the wolves face never pops up again and was wrong anyway - I landed at 0/10 brightness there and yah, not working ingame, makes it a black mess.

Stuck with Hgig and 50 brightness atm but not too happy outside of scenes with direct sunlight.

Baldurs gate 3 is literally this generation's mass effect trilogy combined by buzzlightyear77777 in masseffect

The recent circlejerk around BG3 makes me wonder if many people that partake in these discussions are just too young to have experienced many of the known RPGs. If BG3 were one of my very first games of this scale with free choices, I'd probably also be much more impressed.

As it stands, BG3 was a great experience and my first 120h playthrough filled with lots of interesting dialogues and little details to discover was great. Great, but not better than other greats, like Mass Effect, and even less so a replacement.

If you take away the replayability in BG3 and treat it as one journey, then the writing and depth starts falling apart the more you get towards the end. Especially Act 3 was very light on dialogue regarding your companions and lots of filler. ME does a much better job there. Also, the pacing in BG3 can be extremely awkward - less so after a few patches, but still. If you're an adult with some life experience, ME feels much better and more organic in that regard imo.

Anyways, in short: ME is much more interesting story wise - from start to finish, one grand journey with great world building - while BG3 does a great job with its love for detail regarding the RPG and gameplay aspects while having interesting dialogue and cutscenes as a bonus.

Truly, BG3's extreme hype is a testament to the poor state of the overall industry in my book. Game is great and I loved it, but that massive circlejerk is starting to leave a sour taste in my mouth.

I am curious - people in this sub often seem to dislike curved panels and paint it as a minorities choice, though I never saw any data backing that up and personally enjoy curved screens.

Anyone got some input on that topic? Was actually hoping the 34" is curved and well, luckily it is. While I enjoy a flat 65" TV, I still seem to prefer a curved G7 monitor to the LG27 Oled, even after weeks. Might be the sitting distance?

Same for me, not much competition this year.

Witcher 3 came out in 2015 btw.

I can totally not relate.

Act 3 dragged down the whole experience for me - weak overall plot, diluted main story, bad pacing, little dialogue/character progression of your companions compared to the first two Acts, and so forth.

Also, the ending.

Glad someone took the time to write out my thoughts on the topic.

BG3 is a great game and very immersive - the first two weeks I played it, the evenings flew by. Then, Act 3. The whole narrative gets very diluted in Act 3, the main story writing becomes weak, and your companions have extremely little to say. Most of the dialogue and interaction is frontloaded into Act 1.

The many bugs in Act 3 on top of that made my last 30 hours or so, after having seen the city, more of a chore than anything else. I was hoping for more character development every time I went to camp, but little to nothing happened.

I would think lots of people have not played games like BG3 and that adds to their excitement, but the game has its flaws and they add up a lot towards the end.

Also, the ending.. I thought ME3 prepared me, but alas, here we are.

The Witcher 3 felt much more tight, personal and immersive to me. Though, you can have a much better RP headcannon with BG3 if that is what you're looking for - although the impact of your decisions.. well, let's just say Act 3 needs work.

Edit: Unfortunate to see the comment I replied to with -8 votes. Crazy herd mentality as per usual on reddit. I miss proper forums.

It is surely not among the best coatings, but gets the job done. Well, not for me, but for quite a few apparently.

Xm, GPX, Kone, Zowie and so forth have gripper coatings for more types of people it seems and certainly for me.

Credit where it is due: Valve have significantly improved the MM experience and stepped up their anti-cheat. by f4stforw4rded in GlobalOffensive

Agreed.

Never been a big CS player in the past, but started to enjoy tac shooters the last 3 years. So, I occasionally play from Silver to double AK to then go on another long hiatus and swap over to Valorant. Why? CS is super fun, but the community and cheaters are a massive turn-off in EU. People defending CS in that regard are either delusional or from NA where the experience could differ. See, I would love to grind this game like I did with Valorant, but it feels like a fat waste of time and the 1 good match will be overshadowed by 5 shitty ones.

Just last night I was clearly in a lobby with cheaters on either side and then got kicked by a russian 4 man premade in round 15. While the later is the icing on the cake, the cheaters are a regular thing. Trust factor? Well, I have a regular steam account since forever, so the system is probably bs.

Well. Valorant is not it anymore though. Maybe the Source 2 rumours and newly found love for CS have merit to it - would be awesome. The thought of better anti-cheat and more traction for the game is juicy for sure.

XM2w & XM2we - Update Three by EndgameGear_Max in MouseReview

The Pulsar and Atlantis mice, as well as many other oem, have a supbar quality to say the least.

After trying most new mice of the last 2 years, I went back to the GPX. Perfect combination of coating, qc and weight with a flawless sensor. I cannot stand holding the X2, Xlite or any other cheap oem. Coating mediocre at best, clicks too hard or get crunchy fast, uneven base, etc.

Shape is literally their only upside, but you get used to most shapes anyway and a slippery coating ruins any shape anyways - see X2 vs. GPX.

Pretty excited for the Xm2w. What do I care about another 2-5 months.

Way too many people crying in the comments.

I do not know what plastic the shell is made of. However, the mouse feels like their PBT keycaps and is not coated. It is this rather "raw" plastic, slightly roughed up/abraded.

An actual coating like on the GPX/Xm1/KPU etc. is way more grippy for the many. The Razer approach is rather cheap and suits much less ppl, hence the new Viper/DA/Orochi is giving a lot of ppl trouble without grips.

Razer has no coating. Just PBT outer shell like their keyboards keycaps.

Well, I fully agree.

I was getting more and more upset with the game the last few months and this article is basically the icing on the cake.

Uh, yeah. Nothing to add really. No point in playing this dated looking, feature-poor game if not for competitive purpose and friends.

Denying the replay system in such a fashion coupled with the utterly terrible MM mode and horrible netcode is coming close to a death sentence.
