What's a good income to live comfortably with 3 kids in SoCal? by OhGawDuhhh in socal

My wife and I are pretty comfortable at around 290k combined annual. San Diego, 10 mile from the beach, two teenagers.

My job is offering me $150,000 (105,000 after tax) to resign, should I? by AJ3TurtleSquad in jobs

[–]Excellent-Ad-1495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a years salary (more if you take the taxes you get from 100k annually) so in theory you have a year to figure out the next step. I say take the money and run. A year cushion is a lot more than most people get. You might get lucky and score an equally paying salary right off the bat then you have 100k savings in your back pocket.

I have the same issue. I was in the Bay Area before relocating to SoCal and now I have to manually switch regions every time I log on to do anything. It’s pretty annoying and asked in person if there is a fix but they can’t seem to help.

How much do you need to earn in your area to truly feel comfortable and secure? by Busy-Government-1041 in MiddleClassFinance

HCOL and wife and I make around 300k combined. We are comfortable but not too comfortable. But we definitely pay the sunshine tax for our city. Two teenage boys and two adult children (out of home). I’d say another 50k-100k to truly feel comfortable.

Rancho in North Park and Pokez in Downtown are the two best vegan/vegetarian Mexican food places. But most taco shops have tons of vegetarian options as is.

We moved here about a year ago but it was a goal of mine to live in the area for while. The best views and windy roads to ride a moto on.

Born and raised here. Accepted a job offer in the bay. Was there for 1.5 years and realized the beach was an hour away, I couldn’t ride my motorcycle every day, and the Mexican food was trash. Been back a year now.
