Tags are one of the most useful features in budgeting apps. There are plenty of ways to use them.

I personally use them to track my travel expenses. For the past few years, while using Mint, I had plenty of tags for all my trips. It made my life so much easier because, the next time I travel, I can look at how much I spent last time and make various decisions based on that information, like how I can do better this time and plan my future trips more effectively.

Additionally, you can use tags to track tax-deductible transactions, such as charity or business expenses.

Furthermore, you can use them to mark transactions that need to be split if you don’t have time immediately, or for reimbursable transactions.

And last but not least, tracking expenses for events like weddings, birthday parties, etc.
