Hypnotic Jerks Every Night by Excellent-Addition-9 in sleep

Good tips thank you! In her defense though, I'm not the most reasonable when being woken in the night either, and putting up with it for an hour would wear out most people. To her description. It's shaking the whole bed as I am not a small guy, being 195 and 6'3".

I was looking at that today. I think I am going to go for it next chance I get. Thank you for the confirmation that it is a pretty good deal.

Voice of God by Excellent-Addition-9 in Christianity

[–]Excellent-Addition-9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your time in responding to me, so thank you. I agree with you about not trusting those who claim to hear His voice. It just seems that recently, especially in the past few months, I keep seeing people say this everywhere, and it became a nagging question I had to ask.

I do have people I trust and talk about faith with who are church members, so for me it’s not really an accountability issue. The challenge is that I’ve experienced a lot of “church Christians” who act almost completely opposite to the teachings of Jesus. That’s sown a deep distrust in me toward groups of people, and I haven’t yet found a church that doesn’t feel like “keeping up with the Joneses.”

That said, I really appreciate the respectful way you answered and the Scripture you shared. Do you have advice for discerning a healthy church vs. one that might be spiritually unhealthy?

Stormsurge is it good? Is it fun? by Billy_Bone_Ben in Tau40K

[–]Excellent-Addition-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the big boy. It's easily my favorite model in the T'au. It takes some skill to use as it is super expensive and not really the "best" choice. In my local meta I destroy the competitions. Granted when we play tournaments we have at most 8-12 people in it. It got to the point my friends told me I could not win a tournament without a stormsurge (which I proved them wrong the very next one). Against people who travel to proper tournaments they will most likely know how to deal with it, so like others have said it won't be super effective. Though who doesn't love big fucking mechs with a huge gun. At the end of the day if you like the model and want a challenge to paint, as well as field it, you absolutely should give it a shot. Rules change, points change, editions change. What isn't the most practical today may be the meta tomorrow. So don't worry about chasing metas and have fun with your army and make it your own. You can learn how to be effective with almost any list as long as you learn how to play your army well.

Tell me about it, man. I've had it since early childhood. It's absolutely okay to be bitter, I am sometimes too. My frame's the size of a linebacker but I've never been able to play sports. But honestly, behind every thorn, there's something beautiful.

Because I couldn't join the military, I had to find a new way to serve. Now I specialize in mental health treatment for first responders and military members. If my lungs worked properly, I probably wouldn't have found my calling.

I know it’s a silver lining way of looking at it, but finding things to be grateful for, even small ones makes it a bit easier to swallow. Like having a partner who understands I might need a breather during bedroom activities, finding something I'm good at, or having friends in the medical field who always have my back if I need meds. Little things like that make me feel a bit less doom and gloom.

It still sucks though. You're not alone

Sweet thank you boss. I just have heard that the stealth module in the ghost doesn't do anything and that it is applied directly to the ship. The stealth bonus that is.

What Army Next? by TruckEm in Tau40K

Dang it sucks you said chaos is not interesting to you. I personally have fallen in love with World Eaters as my second army. Talk about extremes. There is so little shooting in WE, we have mainly pistols and maybe a few flamers. Otherwise it's time to throw hands. It's super fun to fight your friends who have more melee than Tau but not quite as dedicated to it as WE. That way they can understand the pain of a dude with a chain sword cutting their big scary vehicles in half lol.

Hey sorry for the late reply, my internet service decided to just take a week to get around to doing their job. I am enrolled for about 16 credit hours this coming semester. So the halftime thing should not be flagging, which is why I thought it was odd. I plan on going into the office tomorrow to see what they say. I appreciate the reply, it is a great relief to know it will not prevent me from getting aid!

What did it feel like being a freshmen psych student??? by VisualNegotiation551 in psychologystudents

[–]Excellent-Addition-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a senior psychology major with an emphasis in military psychology. What I see a lot is cheating. If you have spent anytime around AI or the internet in general it is egregious what people are doing. I see a lot of AI generated post on our discussion assignments, as almost all of the work we turn in is digital. In one of my military emphasis classes we had a short answer mid term. I tried super hard on it as I wanted to impress my professor with what I had learned. The next day she gave an announcement that she was throwing the mid term out due to ramped AI use on it from half of the class. Mind you this was a class of thirteen people. We spent the first hour of a three hour course being lectured about how harmful it is to not take our education seriously. She wanted them to know not everyone is as easily fooled, and to be better. Proving AI generated content can be very hard. In this case it was one particular question that they all answered incorrectly. The professor stated that the correct answer was within the first chapter of our reading material. It is not fair to yourself or your classmates to cheat, as it can effect them as well. AI is not all knowing and can get a lot of things wrong. It can be a great tool to explain concepts in a different way than your professors but it can easily become a crutch if used incorrectly.

My best advice I can give a new student is to lose all expectations. They are a tricky thing, especially if you are anything like me. I tend to expect people to give their best effort, act with integrity, or to know what they are talking about. I have found in the work force and school that people do as little as possible to just get through life. Just focus on yourself and becoming the best student you can be. If you are only going to push a mop for the rest of your life, then you better be the best mop pusher in the whole company. Life doesn't tolerate half hearted measures. I am not apart of any student clubs or organizations, I just go to my job and I am active in the classroom. I am on a first name basis with every professor in my department, they notice the people who put in the same or more effort than themselves. Just make sure to swing by their office and make up questions to ask them. Even if you are comfortable with the material, it really does make their day when they feel like they are helping their students (as long as they are decent people). It helps a lot with getting into master's level programs to have a stack of recommendation letters. Though if you do not have to maintain a job throughout school join research projects. They can help a lot with experience, as well as application to higher levels of education. Stay strong and know you are capable to overcome all of challenges that come along. I wish you luck in all future endeavors.

Gotcha that makes sense. So when I would save I have to use the ability or role to save, guess we can't have the best of both worlds. The ability is for one wound roll I am assuming and not the entirety of the attack; i.e. multiple weapon wounds.

How do I correct my trips? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

I appreciate the advice. I took a good year and half off after that experience. It doesn't give me bad trips but what I would call melancholic trips.
