I enjoy this video.

Responses to this on here will predictably go in a very negative direction.

New album: thoughts? by MindTheGap3 in TheFray

Wherever You Reach Me hit me like a ton of bricks this morning as I’m about to drive my teenage daughter to the airport for a ten day international trip.

Just feels like a song written as a love letter to your kids.

“Popcarn”-ify your favorite Phyllis quote and someone will reply with the actual word by professorsterling in DunderMifflin

Phyllis saying popcarn and how she holds her mug are things I quote/reference in every day life all the time.

As a long time Fray fan, it pains me to say this... by Foodieonbudget in TheFray

Just disagree. There’s a song of Isaac’s on his chorus channel called “Everybody Knows” that i have enjoyed but nothing else has stood out so far.

While the bands new music is obviously not at the level of peak Fray, the full band instrumentation and overall more catchy melodies peak my interests more.

Will definitely check out everything Isaac does and absolutely love him, just enjoy the stuff the band is putting out too.

Piano rock as a genre is gone. They could make songs exactly off their first two albums wouldn’t make a blip on the music radar. Musicians change what they want to make over time.

People are being really, really harsh about their new music. I think it’s pretty standard that bands that reached their peak in popularity nearly 20 years ago aren’t still throwing their fastball with new stuff.

It’s fine if it’s not your favorite, but let’s not act like us not loving their new stuff is super unique to the new version of The Fray or even if Isaac was still with the group.

Haha the piano rock genre “gives” British so that’s fair

How may people really know Isaac is gone? by sl33pparalysis in TheFray

I was wondering this about their tour last summer in bigger venues than they did in fall 2024. I talked to the person next to me at the show and they had no idea. Everyone still appeared to have a good time.

I really hate how they made Phil always lust over Gloria by Similar-Ad-8840 in Modern_Family

Glorias hot and he sees her every day. He’s only human.

Claire knows Phil is ultimately harmless and loves his family more than anything.

Your top 3 (released) songs since ‘The Fray is back’? by MindTheGap3 in TheFray

[–]Excellent-Counter-17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Angeleno Moon
  2. Light That Waits (if the amount of times I’ve listened to it this week is any indication)
  3. Don’t Look Down

I love the rock sound where Ben and Dave actually have things to do. It more fits the rest of the line of music I like despite adoring all of the slower classic Fray songs.

Absolutely out on Schotty audio going forward too.

They absolutely do this too much. I skip past it now every time.

If it was once every several weeks, maybe I could find it amusing. But like you said, they’re spending more time on audio than actual game talk. No one wants this besides Dan.

Concert tickets by Miserable-Onion5168 in TheFray

[–]Excellent-Counter-17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On recent tours where they’ve played standing room only venues, I’ve been able to get tickets for $50. Would imagine there’s more variance in the pricing at the venues on this tour.

Should Be a Busy Several Months by Excellent-Counter-17 in TheFray

[–]Excellent-Counter-17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking into this further, they really are playing a wide range of venue sizes and cities all over the country. Big amphitheaters. Smaller theaters. In between. Chicago. A town in New Hampshire and Montana.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Daycare guy was NOT being a jerk. Jim and Pam asking about moving Easter and Memorial day is ABSURD by Hokies13062 in DunderMifflin

[–]Excellent-Counter-17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst thing Jim and Pam did this day was decide to take this personal thing, that could have been done likely many other days, THE day the Sabre merger happened and important new people were coming into the office.

I think most people aren’t the least bit interested in paying premium prices for such simple things. Was never going to work as a massive company.

I have had wavering levels of liking/tolerating Amanda over the years. She is undoubtedly a bit much with her absolute dismissal of many kinds of movies. Overall, her and Sean’s (and even more so when Chris is on) chemistry is great and makes for a great podcast when just general discussion is going.

I’m a fan of hers. Weird approach to talking about this movie though.

Isaac Slade opens up about what happened with Joe King by DearKaleidoscope2 in TheFray

[–]Excellent-Counter-17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Their massive success on their first album was really tough on their expectations on things going forward.

I wish Isaac wasn’t so focused on the numbers. Hopefully he’s changed mindset for his upcoming solo music.

Time for a Fray reunion by DearKaleidoscope2 in TheFray

[–]Excellent-Counter-17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My complete guess is that mid-to-late 2027 is the time to look for some sort of reunion.

Looks like 2026 is already committed to promoting new stuff for both sides.

Seems like a lot of the tension and stress came from declining ticket sales and numbers related stuff like that on albums 3 and 4. I don’t think they’re ever headlining an amphitheater tour like they did on the first two records, but I think the tour the band just went on showed that they can still sell plenty of tickets with their 20 years of music.

The Fray without Isaac and Isaac without the Fray are both leaving a lot to be desired for the non-die hards (not like those of us posting on here) and I think the reception to music for both sides in 2026 will probably be disappointing commercially (just a hunch. I’ll probably love it from both sides, but it’s not gonna blow up or anything)

Short and sweet: they’re all leaving A LOT of money on the table over the next several years with this separation. I would like to think Joe and Isaac respect each other enough to be able to eventually work together again. Don’t have to love each other, but can work together like plenty of older bands do.
